Hi Jason, You're quite welcome. Today I went back and found James Prouty, Sr.'s headstone. Are they your ancestors? I've been to this cemetery before and actually photographed their headstones. I like find out about people who were pioneers of a local community. They are buried about 5 minutes from where I live. I live off of Prouty Road named after the family.

Thanks so much for the headstone photo, I'm still tracking down exactly my relationship to him. But the military info from the headstone has already provided clues in Ancestry!
Thanks so much for the picture!

I am not a relative. I am helping on a project to honor WWII KIA soldiers by requesting photos for their memorials. I found this information on his headstone application-Co. L, 3Bn, 24 Regt, 4th Div Marines. I also found information on Ancestry that shows he died at Iwo Jima. I think it would be wonderful if you added information to his bio.

You are welcome. I also took a picture of the front of the stone, but that is much more worn. I can send you the pictures if you want.

|Familly Researcher||Hopkins/Ammidown Hope Cemetery Worcester MA|
My brother and i did get over to Hope this week and looked around where the gravestone is and there were no other Ammidown gravestones in the area.
We stopped in the office but they were busy with families making arrangements so we will head over there another time.
And yes the dates from the Ammidown family that i have listed all came from the gravestone. I believe that one may only have a birth year date. We see that on many, many gravestones. Some one dies and either no one is alive to have the date added or no arrangements were made to add the dates. I always find that a bit sad.
If we can be of any further help please feel free to contact me.
