What I Am Currently Working On

23 Jul 2016 - I am currently processing my 2014-2015 photos for the Branson Cemetery.

As of 23 Jul 2016 I have spent about 20+ hours at this cemetery.

Branson Cemetery at
Loveland, Pottawattamie County, Iowa

98 name(s) I've entered
1008 total for Branson Cemetery

There are still 108 FindaGrave memorials with no photo. When I started on 8 July, there were 116 that needed photos.

A big thank you to Tami Amidon for doing some of the photos for me. I guess it's time for me to quit messing around. I have to get these finished. I have had photos for over 2 years, so these have to get done!

19 Jul 2016 - I finished processing my 15 Jul 2016 photos for the Friendship Cemetery.

As of 19 Jul 2016 I have spent about 1+ hours at this cemetery.

Friendship Cemetery at
Omaha, Putnam County, Missouri

17 name(s) I've entered
164 total for Friendship Cemetery

There are still 65 FindaGrave memorials with no photo.

When I visited this cemetery, I found that the grass and clover was up in patches all over the cemetery. I had a fear of getting chiggers from the grass, so I sprayed my shoes and pants with bug spray. It was just a precaution, but one can never be too careful.

The temperature on the dash of my car said it was 78 when I arrived. The humidity must have been extremely high, because it felt oppressively hot the whole time I was there. There were very few clouds, and little to no breeze--so the sun seemed to bake me. The grass was very dry and seemed to reflect the heat.

What this all means is this...I only stayed an hour. I only did a partial photographing of the cemetery. I meant to take photos of all the stones, but temperature, humidity, and high grass prompted a short stay.

Some of the graves were surrounded by high grass and flower leaves. It was impossible to take a photo without trimming all the foliage away. I didn't have the time nor the inclination to do any grass trimming. As a result I didn't get any good photographs of Hugh and Otis Allen.

This was a nice little cemetery. It would have been a better visit if the cemetery had been mowed and trimmed. I plan on going back to see what other discoveries can be made. I think there are other graves that are not on Findagrave.

FindaGravers should follow this simple rule: 'Quality not Quantity'

"Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." Ralph Waldo Emerson.

RE: Transfers
Hi, Ron, the only reason I skipped some was that you had done extra work on them, and I thought you would want to keep those. I am totally happy with any and all, particularly any from Harrison County.

RE: Friendship Cem
I do kinda think it is related to the Brown cemetery as well.I remember seeing a sign that said Friendship Brown, but can't find it on Find A Grave now. I wonder why. I don't live there, so am not positive about that, but I can picture it so clearly that I'm sure I saw it.
