I always knew that I would do some kind of volunteer work upon retiring. I came upon Find A Grave while researching our (wife and I) ancestry. I have never enjoyed photography, but I truly enjoy claiming, locating, taking pictures, and posting the marker/headstone for the requestors. My biggest disappointment is finding that a gravesite does not have a marker or headstone.

I do volunteer photos, but I also enjoy taking photos of markers for the veterans interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and posting them to the memorial that was established by another volunteer.

I served 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as an E7 (Master Sergeant) 1961-1981.

After retiring from the AF I was employed by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Federal Investigator and accountant.

RE: Clementine Herrmann - Klaus
Jerry - Thank you for making all of the changes. Clementine was married to my dad's first cousin. I never knew her, but will gladly take over the memorial if you would like. -- Amy

Jerry, I am afraid I cannot help you on this. I am not near the cemetery. I had requested a photo of the stone, and a volunteer could not find it. I don't know if the other possible cemetery is large or not, but I do know that this person was on an old transcription of the Crandall Cemetery. My next move would be to call both cemeteries to see which one has him in their records. Sorry I can't help.

RE: Doris Bronstein
Doris was my father's first cousin. I would be very happy to take over her memorial and that of her husband Martin Bronstein.
Thank you very much.

RE: Dale George
I think you are correct. The Yell Co. Cemetery Records online list: George, Dale FHM 15 Dec 1981. Instead of date of birth it states FHM. I do not know what that means.

I will continue to check the cemetery when I'm in the area and see if we can locate Dale. Amon Dale didn't pass away until 1989.

1. Ah, busy time of year for you then!

2. Thanks. Nice to have the location and photograph!

3. I suppose it should be changed to 1901 since that seems to be the prevailing opinion, but we need a better source. Hopefully we can get a photograph. Have you submitted a request yet? I'd do it, but I've used up my 20 requests for the week.

4. Check this out. If you like it, I think it would be great on his memorial.

RE: William and Mary George
Just realized I forgot to respond to your question about cemetery photos. I'm curious where you saw such a statement. There are currently 861 memorials in Casa Cemetery and over 700 of them currently have photographs attached, so I'm thinking the statement may be inaccurate.

In general, I've never heard anyone say that a cemetery should not be photographed.
