Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love to build family trees & help others with their own research. This site is valuable as such, thanks to it's creators & volunteers. If I've added anything to a memorial which should be changed or deleted, please let me know. If you'd like an obituary or article looked up in the Seattle Times archives or America's Geneaology Bank (part of NewsBank Inc.), I'm happy to do a quick search. If you have a moment, please consider leaving flowers for my friend, REGGIE THOMPSON (1953-2013).

Dear Ancestor,
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Memorial 68184816
Hello,
Although I appreciate that you posted the obituary for my grandmother, Mabel Mae (Elliott) Auker, I am informed that only photos of the grave, gravestone or person are allowed per the Find A Grave guidance in "Help." Unfortunately I must ask you to remove the obit clipping.
It's wonderful that you are willing to make obits available to family researchers. Thank you for being so helpful!
Best regards,
Lynnet

Harriet Holmes 1786-1829
I couldn't find Harriet in the Johns Island (S.C.) Presbyterian cemetery. Is there any connection between her and William Burwick Holmes that you know of?

Thanks LC! Appreciate the favor. Don't knock yourself out because we really don't think they're out there but gotta feel that stone's been turned. I suspect Michigan, where many cemetery records are not online, or Ohio, either location living with family members. Enjoy your day.

RE: Thanks! & More Brooks
I took out a pain ancestry.com account and am getting more info (too much on two separate trees- I can't keep everything straight!). Would you believe I found a picture of Mahala Brooks?! Quite impressive, I should add. Have you ever heard of the Alger Logging Company which had been in Portland, OR? WS & Mahala's daughter Almira Brooks m. Hollis Alger and began this logging company. Alger's brother had a logging company in MI. I'm kind of fascinated with this family even though they are only ggg-uncle & wife. Washington S. Brooks is most likely Washington Sylvanus Brooks, named for his father Marcena Brooks' father Sylvanus Brooks. PLEASE! If you happen to run across Marcena Brooks & Sarah Boss Brooks buried anywhere in the vacinity, please let me know! I can't find them. They most likely are buried in MI but I question whether they tried to move to WA and died enroute. Marcena Brooks b.1789 (a nephew same name born NY c.1813/died NY). Sarah Boss Brooks b.c.1799 NY, maybe remarried. Sorry about your flood and hope you're well! Thanks for the links.

RE: Esperanza & Johnny Ruiz
You are so welcome - if there are any other relatives of yours that I've made memorials, I'd be happy to transfer them, just let me know.

I hope you don't mind, but I've transferred her to you. I made the changes for you, but you might want to add more to her Bio. By the way, I've often looked at the beautiful pictures of Josefina and Filemon and their story, thanks for letting me help. Valice
