DO NOT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT TRANSFER MEMORIALS USING THE EXCUSE THAT THEY PUT A LOT OF "WORK" INTO THE MEMORIALS THEY CREATED. IF YOU VIEW YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO FIND A GRAVE AS "WORK"....MAYBE YOU SHOULD FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO OCCUPY YOUR TIME.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My name is Brenda (Boyer) Kohr. My husband, Pete, and I are researching his side of the family (Kohr/Smith)&(Minnich/Buxton), as well as my own (Boyer/Grimes)&(Beil/Shott). We are not on Find A Grave to see how many memorials we can amass so that we can have our numbers posted in the "Top Contributors" catagory. We are here to make memorials to pay tribute to our families and friends and hopefully help others to find theirs.
We enjoy helping others by photographing grave markers. There are times that we may photograph markers that are near the ones we were asked to take photos of, or if we see one with our surnames. If there is no memorial for these extra photos that we take....I create one. If by chance I happen to create a memorial for a relative or a friend of yours don't hesitate to ask for a transfer. I don't feel the need to keep memorials that I have created. (unless they are family) I only created them so that someone may find a member of their family or a friend. Guidelines (and that is all they are) and numbers mean nothing....families are what is important. If people asking for out of guideline transfers has caused a problem for you.....stop making memorials. Problem solved!!
Guidelines....not rules, not regulations, not laws....not even an eleventh commandment.
NOTE: - GUIDELINES ....definition of...
A guideline is a statement by which to determine a course of action. By definition, following a guideline is never mandatory. Guidelines are NOT binding.
RE: Catharine Phillips
Thank you for looking for other Phillips. Catherine Phillips' husband died between 1840 and 1850, so you are probably right about the marker no longer being there if there was one.
RE: Mary Dare
If you ever run across John Epley (d. 1826, Fairview Twp.) in your photography of the area, please let me know. He ought to have a marker somewhere (he was a Rev. War Vet), but I have never been able to determine a burial location for him. His wife Elizabeth died in 1831. They should be in one of the area cemeteries there.
