All's Well That Ends Well
Hi Stu,

I don't know whether it was because of the message I sent to the administrator, or the message I sent this past Thursday to the individual who created the memorial for my great-grandfather, but today I logged on and found the memorial had been deleted. I know my last message to that person, which was very polite, made the man very angry as he sent me a nasty reply. No matter. I created a new memorial, including photos, etc. and linked it to parents, spouse, and children. Meanwhile, the administrator did transfer memorials for my great-aunt and her husband that had been created by an individual listed as "inactive." All's well that ends well.

I trust you're enjoying the holiday weekend.

RE: Perry Co, OH Fickel Memorials
Hi Stu,

Thanks for your sage counsel regarding the 1% who consider themselves either "laws unto themselves" or "temple guard dogs". One runs into those types everywhere, not just on Find A Grave. I had read the FAQs regarding transfers over the weekend and yesterday I sent an Email to the address provided by the administrators (info@), laying out the issue concerning my great-grandfather. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it. As mentioned previously, I saw no reason to reply to the individual again. It did cross my mind that he (or she) didn't believe that anyone could be on here with a great-grandfather born in 1820. It's an unusual situation to be sure, but one that's well documented. Meanwhile, I have a raft of other relatives to create memorials for and the task to enhance those that I currently maintain. I'll let you know how I make out with the transfer issue. Best, Tom (I go by my middle name "Thomas")

RE: Perry Co, OH Fickel Memorials
Thanks Stu for your reassuring words concerning those who doggedly hold on to listings of persons who are not relatives. Your message arrived at a most opportune moment as I ran into that yesterday when asking that my great-grandfather's memorial be transferred to me. The individual's replies to me were clearly condescending and left me wondering what's the real reason for the refusal. At any rate, thanks again for your reassuring words and for happily transferring my ancestors memorials to me. I appreciate it! Tom

Mary Dusenberry Fickel
Stu, I see that you maintain the Find-a-Grave Memorial for my great-great grandparents, Joseph D. Fickel (Memorial #73152915) and Mary Dusenberry Fickel (Memorial #73152954. When viewing the memorials, I noticed that Mary Dusenberry Fickel's parents are not listed. Her father was Revolutionary War soldier William Dusenberry (Memorial #76046574) and his first wife, Elizabeth Compton. Elizabeth Compton died in 1797 in New Hampton, NJ and there is no record of her grave. I maintain the memorials for two of Joseph's and Mary's children, namely Josiah and Rachel, and if you're agreeable, would be happy to take over Joseph's and Mary's.

Monnett Documents
Hi Stu -

Remember me? It's been a year or so since I last contacted you with some Monnett photos that I inherited. I have been going through some of the letters and papers and found some documents that might interest you. I have three land deeds for land in Ohio that was purchased by the Monnett family in 1832, 1833 and 1858. One bears the signatures of both Abraham Monnett and his wife Sarah. The other two are William Monnett. Would be happy to send you photos if them if you are interested. Also have found some graduation announcements for Monnetts and some cards and letters from Monnetts that were sent to my Kinnear relatives.
I see that the Monnett Family Genealogy website is no longer there, have you given up keeping that going?

Angela Van Meter ; Grand Prairie
I have deleted the memorial for Angela Van Meter. I just must of added her when I added the other. Someone can follow up in the future to get a photo of the memorial with her dates on it.
Thanks !

need a date check
Could you double check the inscription on the grave of Joseph Burtsfield, buried in the Burtsfield cemetery? Find-a-grave notes it as "age 20", making his death date 1841 - but he is listed (presumably alive) with the family in the 1850 census. Could the inscription actually be "age 30"?

Eva Mae Atha
I apologize for not answering sooner but I just found your query concerning Eva Atha and her husband Thomas Dildine. Eva was a sister to my grandmother Rosa Atha and their children are my 1st cousins once removed so yes we are related. Rosa was my Dad's mother who was gone long before I was born. Eva and Rosa's father William Thomas Atha was my great grandfather.

And how are you related?
