Are all the Children In?

I think oft"times as night draws nigh
Of the old farmhouse on the hill.
Of a yard all wide and blossom-starred
Where the children played at will.
And when the night at last came down,
Hushing the merry din,
Mother would look around and ask,
"Are all the children in?"

Tis many and many a year since then,
And the house on the hill
No longer echoes to children's feet,
And the yard is still......so still.
But I see it all,the shadows creep,
And though many years have been
Since then,I can still hear Mother ask,
"Are all the children in?"

I wonder if when the shadows fall
On that last short, earthly day,
When we say good-bye to the world outside,
All tired from our childish play.
When we step out into that Other Land
Where Mother has long since been,
Will we hear her ask, just has of old
"Are all the children in?"

Kim Jacobs
Porterfield cemetery
Do you know the location of this cemetery? I know it is in Wilson county off Clever rd. According to death certificates my husband has several ancestors buried there, but they are not listed (all are Jacobs). We will be in the area first week of Aug and would love to go looking for it. Thanks. Kim Jacobs

Moses S Greer et al in Pikeville, TN
Thank you for your cooperation in linking this confusing LARGE Greer family. Wendall Walker has posted a photograph of Moses and Orpha Foster Greer on the memorial to his nephew: Moses S Greer in Pikeville. The elder Moses Greer who married Orpha Foster moved to Dayton, Tennessee in Rhea County and is buried with his wife Orpha in the College Hill Cemetery (around the corner from my house!). He ran the Greer Hotel in Dayton. I have notified Wendall Walker, but the photo is still erroneously posted with Moses S. Greer. Could you remove it? or ask Wendall to? Thank you. Hale Cemetery
I have never been to the cemetery but I have a list who is buried there at home. See I am at work I send it to you later this evening. I tried to find it but they have cut trees down on top of it. It is on private property and they will not let you on it. But someday I hope to get on it. They keep the road closed and locked all the time. Sorry

Elbert W Myers 85102053
Hello,

I am helping a woman work on her husband's family tree and he knows nothing about his great grandfather's family really, just a few tidbits. He knew his name was Elbert Meyers and I found whom I think might possibly be the correct Elbert (originally the name was Moyers, but now family spells it as Myers) and I think it is the Elbert Myers 85102053 in which you created the memorial for. We were wondering if you are related to him? If so I will try to get the woman I am helping set up on FindAGrave so she can contact you directly here, but wanted to know if we maybe found a relative of Elbert in you.

Thank you for your time,

Michelle Pendleton
