Regarding the memorials that I have created: If there are corrections needing made or to ask for a transfer, please contact me through the "Suggest a Correction" link. You can find this link by clicking on the "Edit Tab" which is located on the top far right hand side of the memorial.
Please feel free to use any photo that I have posted here and to ask me for transfers. I always prefer that loved ones manage memorials if at all possible.
If the memorial is of a person who is not related to me, I will transfer ASAP. If the memorial is my own direct relative, especially a grandparent, I will let you know, and most likely decline the transfer at this time. If that relative is closer related to you, I will gladly transfer. If I ever see that I am no longer able to manage my own family memorials, I will happily transfer to someone who will take good care of them.

Thanks for the response. I am disappointed but maybe others will turn up some day! I do not know what managing a memorial entails and haven't seen the ones you have done. If it something that I can do, I would not mind it but wouldn't want to do a poor job. We did an inventory and photographed each headstone, then submitted it all to the state Archives. I have all of the info on old floppy discs but have never updated it. Let me know if the "transfers" are something I can handle - I am not familiar with the process or organization of find a grave.

I found this cemetery in 2001 and after researching - located my 3G grandfather and grandfather buried there. While teaching at SFASU, I managed to map and photograph the entire cemetery with the aid of my two daughters. We recorded the inscriptions of each headstone on our inventory. We began to care for it and I researched the history, applied for the historic designation, paid for the marker, and eventually, in 2005 had it placed. The only person I have ever met with any ties to the cemetery was Joe Sealy. I have not heard from her since 2006. I would greatly appreciate having contact with someone who cares about this cemetery. The map of graves on both sides (black and white) along with the history of the cemetery that we recorded were on Gloria Mayfields's website - cemeteries of Texas. I do not know if they are still online. I mowed and cleaned it with my daughters until three years ago when I had to employ a young man from Henderson - too much for this old lady. Please connect me with any other persons interested in this place.

|Allan Carroll||Hays family|
Dear D McK S,
I've noticed your memorials and messages on several of my family's pages, and I couldn't help but notice a message you sent my cousin concerning the Hays family. I am quite interested in adding to and filling out my ancestors pages. There aren't many of us left in the family who are interested in geneology and are old enough to remember the histories told first hand.
Anyway thank you for the careing messages, memorials and flowers you took time to place on my family pages, and any information or links you have to the Hays, Welch, Crow, Carroll, or Guthrie families I would be extreemely greatful for.
Thank you again and God bless Texas,
Allan David Carroll
Ps. Is the initial McK for mcknight? I have some McKnight ancestors and i was just curious.

As I was scanning the area with Google Maps to figure out where the cemetery was I spotted a Funeral Home in Garrison. I will contact them for information on the cemetery.

I am no relation to S2c Jackson. My father was one of the Marines serving in the USS Nashville's Marine Detachment who was wounded in the attack, but survived. I have been researching the final resting sites of the soldiers, sailors and Marines killed or who died of their wounds in the attack since 2010. I am sharing the information with Steven Bustin, author of "Humble Heroes: How the USS Nashville CL-43 Fought WW II." Mr. Bustin's father served, as a Gunners Mate, for three years onboard the USS Nashville. He also maintains the websites that relate the ship's history. As a retired US Marine I believe that remembering these men is important.
