I started doing genealogy work in 2004 when my mother Rosanna Lurk Reed|
passed away. I got involved with this site when a cousin sent me information on it. I soon found it to be a valuable tool and started adding to it myself.
I am a retired veteran of the Navy Reserve, serving 4 yrs on Active Duty and 16 in the Reserves. I spent 2 yrs in the Philippines where I met my wife of 27 yrs. The other 18 yrs I was assigned to various Carriers from the Saratoga to the Abe Lincoln. My Active Duty Carrier was CVN-69 USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.
I'm was 26 yr veteran with the Memphis Police Department and retired in April 2014. During my Uniform Patrol days I was lucky enough to survive 3 gun fights, then again so did the bad guys. Because of my career with the Police Department I got paid as an extra during the filming of "The Client" which was filmed in Memphis. My shot at stardom however was short lived and my part landed on the cutting room floor. I have also been on 3 episodes of "First 48" which is on the A&E Channel. However you have to look fast, I'm only in the first 5 minutes!
I live in Memphis but I research S/E Missouri mainly Ste. Genevieve, Perry, & Bollinger Counties. Maternal lines of Lurk, Trautman, Flieg, Winston, Wipfler, and Hoog. Paternal lines of Reed, Koenig, Layton, Moore, Drury, & Stallings, if I can help let me know.

Thanks so much for calling it to my attention about James' Civil War information.
I had it in my files, just had not added it on his Find A Grave memorial!
|Alan Cambron||RE: Reed Line|
My Reed family is on my mother's side. The farthest I can trace back is Samuel Reed born in VA in 1834. He later lived in IND and finally Hamilton County IL around 1880, where the Reed family stayed put. Interestingly, my Cambron side was from Perry county MO, and there were names on your list I recognized as having married some Cambron's. No one specific, but I recognized some last names.

Thanks for the super quick response and completing all Catherine's links!

I think you've done a great job! We have no idea when the spelling change happened. It is obvious some of his children kept Hamor and some went to Hammers. I think leaving the ilnk to his wife's memorial where she is listed as Hamor will help anyone searching for the Hamor spelling. These situations are always tricky.
The info you are referring to on her memorial belongs to a black woman who was buried in Alabama
Missouri Death Certificate #3229-18
I have been working on the Janis family, and I can find no MO death certificate for:
Louise Isabella Janis Harris
I will let you know if I find one.
She & Oliver had 2 daughter's:
Lottie & Carrie
|JEANNIE Werner||Hebe Moore|
Hello Scott, the information on the site for Hattie a "Hebe" Maurice Moore is incorrect. This is the grave of my grandmother, Hebe A Operle Moore. Hattie Maurice Moore was my grandfathers first wife.

Scott, still no reply or action by you re my great-grandfather from last March. I would be happy to have you transfer his memorial to me if you are unable to attend to it. And also his wife, Regina Kettinger. I know it is hard to keep up when you have thousands of memorials of people who are not your family. I would be very proud to honor them.
|Josiah Franklin||RE: Joseph Seitz|
I think I sent them to you and they are pending. I am not sure why the other member was so uncooperative and a little hostile. I do run across people in the genealogy world that seem so closed to helping others.
Joseph Seitz d. 1853 (husband) 25239687 (married 1852)
Elizabeth Rottler Bayer (wife) 114897896
Joseph Seitz b. 1853 (child) 43008187
Vincent Bayer was husband #2 they married in 1854.

Thanks for linking Edward to John, but did you get my message about John's name being John Dominick Kern, his birthplace of Freudenberg, Baden, Germany and his wife Regina's maiden name was Kettinger?
