Bio and Links
Bio Photo I'm a retired grandfather (Bill Jones) in Upstate New York who's done a couple of simple family histories. Discovering linkages and sharing them with others is very rewarding for me.

No, I didn't have a favorite in the Civil War because my family fought bravely on both sides!

Elizabeth Jones Owens
Thank you so much for posting the info of Eliza Owens. She is my great great great grandmother! I love searching my family history but sometimes come up empty, so thank you again!!! I will be making a trip to see this with my own eyes because I am so excited. I saw where is is named Jones Cemetery, would it be named after her family?

Captain William J. Tate
Hi Bill,
in the entry for Captain William J. Tate, in Gilmore Cemetery in Donora, Pennsylvania, you said, "the death notice states that he died on his job as a pilot. Perhaps a riverboat pilot." Do you happen to have that death notice? I'm doing a project for the Donora Historical Society on the 42 Donora natives buried in Gilmore Cemetery who fought in the Civil War.
Thanks, Kerry Jo

Ebenezer Cooper
Bill,
I found your note: Candice was the daughter of Ebenezer Jennings & Eleanor Grant Jennings. She was married to Benjamin Behanna (b. 1809 d. between 1860 & 1870). Benjamin is not buried in this same cemetery. Candice is in gravesite E-79, grave 1 with no headstone. That is in a lot with Chattaway's and Nelson's.

Do you know if Ebenezer and Eleanor had a child named Elizabeth b. 11 Nov 1788 in Washington Co, PA. Married William Cooper?

Robert Scott - Gilmore Cem
Hi Bill. I found your memorial for Robert Scott in Gilmore Cemetery in Washington Co., PA. You listed his wife as Eliza and some census information. I was hoping you could elaborate more on this Robert. He may be my 3rd great grandfather and I am trying to pinpoint my Robert Scott's date of death and burial place. Please contact me here or thru my email (jenzroots @ gmail.com) <--without spaces!

Edwin and Effie Dailey
Many thanks for the photos and information posted regarding Edwin and Effie Dailey. Edwin was a distant cousin on my father's side and I remember him coming to our house to discuss Dailey family history in the late 1970's. He was a very nice man and always had a story to share. I don't have many photos of either of them, and your information was very helpful. Sincerely,
Paul Dailey

RE: Thomas Cemetery Photo
Thanks for the reply Bill.
Outside of putting it back at the cemetery not much else you can do with it.But who am I to say? Anyways,I stopped by the cemetery yesterday to photo-document it and am familiar with the story about it. I wonder if anyone has looked down by the creek to see if any other stones still survive? It appears the land behind the cemetery is private property,so I don't know if it would be possible to do so. I was getting ready to match up my photos with the burials on find a grave when I saw the picture you had and obviously it wasn't there so I was curious to where it went. Would I be able to use the picture on my page for completion of this cemetery? I will give you full credit of course. If you would like to see my project please stop by:

Thanks for your time,
Scott

p.s.Are you interested in doing cemetery restoration projects? Depending on where you live,I might be doing a small cemetery in Greece and the more interested parties would be great. However, the town is giving me a hard time about it,so I don't know if it will actually start or not.Just figured I would ask... :]

Thomas Cemetery Photo
Hi Bill,
Where was the photo of Mary Hart taken?

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GScid=2199412&GRid=103663027&

Why was it removed from the cemetery?
Thanks,Scott Banker
