I have been doing my family and my husband's family reaearch since 2008. I would love to hear from anyone who has connections. The surnames I am researching include, Bruman, Houck, Knoche, Lange, Grobbel, Dice, Howe, Seasons, and Collins. Locations include Detroit, Warren, Center Line, Lapeer, North Branch, Burnside, Five Lakes, and Kings Mill in Michigan, McLeod County in Minnesota, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania and North Adams, Massachusetts.
I have established many memorial pages as I learn the burial sites. If I have established a memorial page for someone who is dear to you, please let me know and I will do a transfer. I am not related to anyone in Tennessee, so I am willing to transfer any Tennessee memorials. Please make your request through the edit tab on the memorial and include your ID number.
Please summarize biographical information in a nicely written paragraph rather than submitting a canned form of raw data from census records, death indices, and other documents.
Although Find a Grave allows records such as death certificates or military documents to be uploaded on the memorial pages, I would prefer you not upload them if they are findable online. It is important to leave that space available for items like photos of the person and their marker. The information found on these documents can be summarized in the biography. It is nice to open a memorial and find a cemetery photo, marker photo, or even a personal picture. I feel like I am actually virtually visiting the final resting place.
RE: Henry and Josephine Schulte Thank you for contacting me! Mike is the guru for Mt. Calvary and I assume he has checked what records that he has. I would think that the next step would be to check out the parish records. Have you already done that? I also ASSUME that they went to St. Mary's? I have a bit of their records scanned and will look at them when I get back in town.
RE: Houck Photos ENJOY DOING...I always like seeing name differences...as I had done Frank and Odelia HAUCK in same cemetery, then given the location you gave seeing name on stones gave me a chuckle...see a lot of this.
RE: Harshburger Photos You are very welcome. The cemetery is on private property and I had been hoping to arrange a time to go and get permission to view the cemetery for quite some time. I am glad we could arrange to visit. Many of the stones have been lost to time since the cemetery was transcribed in the early 1960's. We photographed all we could find to save them forever. Luckily, the stones you requested were still visible! Jenean
Joe W. and Margaret Crabtree Photo I can't express how thankful I am for you to take that extra step to take a picture of my grandparents photo in their monument. At first I was surprised, then I realized it was from their monument. They are at the Luminary Cemetery Roane Co.You did a wonderful job. Thank you for the all work you are doing. Diane
