Bio and Links
Bio Photo Greetings,

I have been researching my family tree, taking over the work that my dad started many years ago. My dad, the family patriarch, is the keeper of the family genealogy, old family stories/scandals and ancient family pictures. We've had a good time together talking about family history and sharing our discoveries.

Of course, everything is a never ending project. More grave sites of ancestors to find and record. I also try to pay it forward by creating memorials for other people's loved ones along the way, time permitting.

My direct lineal ancestry goes back to my 11th great grandparents, Edward and Mary Bosworth, who sailed from England to Boston, Massachusetts aboard the "Elizabeth Dorcas" in 1634. From there, I descend from their son Jonathan, then from his son Jonathan Bosworth, Jr., who was married to Hannah Howland, daughter of Mayflower passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley. Then from their son Deacon David Bosworth of Halifax, to his son Nehemiah, his son John, and his son Benjamin.

My grandmother immigrated from County Cavan, Ireland in 1907, and came with her sister through Ellis Island, New York. The rest of their family came soon after, and some moved on to Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

My mother's side were all English, Irish, and Scottish immigrants to New Brunswick, Canada; Upland, Pennsylvania; and Natick, Mass.

Family surnames of interest: Bosworth, Gifford, Woodworth, Potter, Palmer, Wilbor, Wilcox, Dixon, Chadwick, Merrihew, Spooner, Taber, Sampson, Tomson, and Bryant. Also, Gilston, McCracken, Waters, Jackson, and Mahood.

I invite & encourage anyone to leave notes and flowers on the memorials here, if you so choose. Thank you!

"Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn

You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.

Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you."

Note: Find-a-Grave Policy ~~
Q.~ Is it acceptable to add a memorial for someone who is still living?
A.~ Please try to avoid it. In general, we do not encourage adding memorials for individuals who are still living. Please do not add pre-need memorials from (1931-present) to Find A Grave. Memorials for individuals who are alive will be removed when requested (the exception being for 'famous' individuals who already have a burial location in place). You are always welcome to create a 'pre-need' memorial for yourself, if you would like, provided that you have a pre-need headstone already in place in a cemetery.

This agrees with the years on the gravestone.

Why Declined?
Why did you decline every, or almost every update? It is your fault for not putting the plot number. I'll have to go through each decline and take it up with Find A Grave.

Photo Thank You
Janet, I would like to thank you so much for the photo of Caleb Macomber's headstone in Friends-Central Cem., Westport, MA. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated. This looks like a very interesting cemetery and I see that there are many Macombers buried there. Hopefully, someday, I will be able to visit it myself. I would also like to ask permission to use your photos on my family tree. Again, thank you so much. Lin (#47536)

I lived in his home at 33 Washburn road for 25 years, selling and moving to florida in 1998
I researched him extensively and even had his miltary records including Rachel's fight to increase his monthly pension from 10 dollars to 25 if my memory serves me correctly. His record is somewhat mysterious which i will not print here but will talk to you if you contact me. Sad how his children all died before him. I miss that home and land and the area but time marches on. Charlie Faria, Paldogy@comcast.net
