"You can prepare the mind to lose a loved one; but you can never prepare the heart..." unknown|
**If I have posted a memorial for one of your family members and you would like ownership please email me so I can transfer them to you. I would rather them be with their families...**
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone
The name and date are chiseled out
on polished, marbled stone
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn
You did not know that I'd exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
in flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
one hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
and come to visit you.

Thank you. I have contacted Acousintoo too but was kind of rude to me. Perhaps I came off as rude without meaning to. If you contact acousintoo please let her know that my sources besides knowing the family are early census records.
Thank you, Karen Van Patten

I noticed there is a Leonard Nickell listed as a child of their's but there is no Leonard Nickell. I think the mistake occurred when a Don Nickell did the Nickell family history. As he has Leonard listed too. I am a close cousin to Charles and Annie and knew them personally. They had two sets of twins, Clarence and Charles Lee Jr and Clarence died very young. Vernetta had a twin Vern that also died very young. Their surviving granddaughters don't understand how a Leonard Nickell got put into this family. All the Census I have also don't list a Leonard. None of the Nickell's ever mentioned a Leonard. We are wondering how we can omit Leonard from this family info.

You are kind. Thank you. I just hate when I transfer a memorial and they never add anything more. That has really slowed down my transfers of distant relations. But I promise to add all I know about Aunt Anna....Thanks! Sylvia

I know I sent this as an edit question but I just had no idea Buck had two graves and two headstones. I am the memorial keeper for the other one where I have him linked to his parents. Have you seen this before? Is there a protocol? Sign me Confused!
|Judy Ferrari||Dean Heaton|
Woops, I got my uncle and my great uncle mixed up. Douglas D. Sparks drowned in a horse trough. His uncle and my great uncle, David Dean Heaton, either died of bronchitis (on his death certificate), or diptheria (family oral history).
On David Dean Heaton's grave, the inscription reads "Sweet Angel Boy! Thou wert not given long here to dwell. From earth's rude blast Thou art safe in heaven 'Tis Well, 'Tis Well." My sister copied it down in the 1970's when it was easier to read. The first name, David, may never have been on his headstone because, on his death certificate, he is listed as Dean (first name), no middle name, and Heaton as the last name. In any case, it is definitely the grave of my uncle. May I have ownership of the site? Sincerely, Judy Ferrari

Hello. My name is Judy Ferrari and David Dean Heaton is my uncle who drowned in a horse trough when he was 3 years old. Thank you for this wonderful picture of his headstone. I see that it needs repair. The first name "David" is no longer visible. I wonder if I might have "custody" of this site? My e-mail is email@example.com. Thank you, famhistrylvr for taking pictures like this for all of us!

Glad to help out with the stone. When they are shiny, they are difficult to photograph. Alberta

Thank you so much for the transfer. Thank you most of all for creating these Find A Grave pages so that I could locate the burial places of our family.
