Bio and Links
Bio Photo I became interested in genealogy 12 + years ago. Wish it had been sooner, as most of the older relatives are now gone. Makes figuring out "puzzles" alot harder. But I do enjoy the hunt. Some of the surnames I am researching are Mace, Robinson/Roberson, Hughes, Wilson and Price from mainly North and South Carolina. Check out my virtual cemeteries. If you recognize any of the names, please leave me a message. Always looking for new cousins.

I am not related to the majority of the entries I have made. If you would like a transfer, regardless of the relationship, just ask and it will be yours. I only ask that you send a sac and please state the relationship. If there is an error in something I have posted or you have other info, just send a sac.

I will not add any current obits per Find a grave FAQs

You're very welcome, Nana. I'm always amazed at what you can find in old newspapers. Wish there were more of them, especially the ones online. ~ Shawn

RE: Peek Cemetery
Transfer is done. I was going to add some dates to her memorial but I couldn't find a death certificate for her. I noticed a number of people on Ancestry.com have her listed as dieing on May 30, 1929 but with no sources.

Also I added the Lita headstone as "Unknown Austin" with a nickname of "Lita". See http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=140183182. Hope you can solve the mystery.

Also, if you don't mind, I would like to transfer Darkie's memorial to you since she is your ggg-grandmother. Just let me know. ~ Shawn

RE: Peek Cemetery
You are amazing, Nana! I'm so glad I mentioned Darkie's headstone to you. There's now a memorial for her up on Find-A-Grave. See http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=140157737. There's a headstone next to Darkie's with the letters "LITA". Any idea who that might be? I also saw a couple of headstones with C P W and WM W. I think those might be for the West family.

RE: Peek Cemetery
Thanks! I still have a few more pictures to add for Peek Cemetery. Some of the headstones just had initials, others completely completely blank. There was one named "Darkey A", which I imagine might have been a slave. The gravel road to the cemetery is gated, so you have to walk about 300 yards up a hill side. There's another cemetery in the area called Lynn Peek that branches off from the same gravel road. Both are in fairly good shape. Hope you get a chance to see them.

RE: Just a memo...
I started putting Richard's family tree on Ancestry.com, it's Public, you're welcome to look at it. I labeled it the "Richard Gosnell Family Tree". (His name is James Richard Gosnell, but he goes by Richard)

I checked & Richard is descended from Minnie Idella Gosnell, daughter of Ellis N Robinson & Minerva Dulcina Gregory.

New Information on GWH
Nana x4,

I have discovered new information on George Washington Hughes. His Civil War record with the 5th SC CAV ends with him being assigned to an unmounted unit. While I was doing research I discoverd he was transfered to Compant E, 18th SC INF in 1864 and was Gen. Lee at the surrender at Appomattox.

Contact me through my e-mail listed on my Find A Grave page and we will talk some more.

RE: Boiter family cemetery
The coordinates are 34 49'35.72" N 82 01'58.56" W

The cemetery is on a dead end road called Bobcat Lane. The name of the road was changed from Shady Lane Road to Bobcat Lane. Google maps and some of the others still list it as Shady Grove. The road signs have Bobcat Lane.

Go to Google maps, do a search for the coordinates above, zoom in 4 clicks. The green arrow marks the cemetery.

If you have a problem, send me your email address and I'll email maps to you.
