Hello, I'm new to "Find a Grave" and am finding people to be very friendly on this site. I am hoping that what I post might be of help to others in their search for family history - burial sites. If you see any mistakes or anything that requires editing on Memorials I post , please notify me by Findagrave Edit. I will certainly transfer Memorials to family members. Thank you !
Kim C. Olson Audrey- Thank You for visiting my brother's memorial page, and leaving a 'flower'. I have not made a habit of thanking every individual who does that, as it is still a bit painful to even look at the memorial I created for him. But I saw that you are new to Find A Grave and wanted to say 'Welcome' to a new member, and let you know that you will find some pretty great people here. I'm sure you will enjoy being a volunteer. THANK YOU
Welcome Hi Audrey....Welcome to Find a Grave and thank you for visiting & leaving a token for my son Steven & my mom & dad. That was so sweet of you. Here you'll find a lot of kind & caring people. Hope to see more of you in the future.
Geotagging occurs automatically if you are using the free iPhone findagrave app, or if you are using a camera or smartphone with a built-in GPS receiver and have geotagging enabled. It just allows the coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the grave to be automatically collected (you typically don't have to do anything except enable it in your device) and uploaded so anyone can go right to them later without relying on section and row information.
I use the iPhone app for all my work on findagrave. It is easy to create entire memorials with pictures and coordinates while standing in front of the grave. I can even choose to create or add at the cemetery and wait until I am on a Wi-Fi connection for the actual uploading so I don't use up my data plan on the phone.
