I believe a person should never be forgotten. The purpose of any and all memorial additions I have made, be it a relative or not, is purely out of respect for the deceased. If it weren't for my mother, Mary Ann (Gallant) Deschenes, whom I miss terribly, bringing me to family cemeteries when I was younger, showing me the memorials of where my relatives were buried and explaining who they were, I probably would be like most others, and not care. I thank my mother for caring enough to tell me all of this family history. I want to thank my grandmother, Jacqueline "Lena" (Gaudet) Gallant, for keeping such an "awesome" scrapbook!.......one that I've been able to contribute to over the years. I would also like to send a special thanks to my Aunt Alice (Deschenes) Dumais, (my father, Roland Clarence Deschenes' youngest sister), for peaking my interest in my family's genealogy, for telling me some of the history of the Deschenes and St. Aubin's and also for giving me copies of pictures she had of her parents, grand parents and great grandparents and their families (some of which I've included in my memorials). Last but not least, I would like to thank Find A Grave for being here; You helped me mourn the loss of my mother as I entered each family member and friend. I hope I am able to continue their stories. As a protection of privacy, I have left out the locations to all surviving relatives; if any family member of the deceased would like a true copy of an obituary, just ask. Heartfelt thanks to all who visit and/or leave flowers!
