Having my Dad commit suicide when I was 5 and being re-connected with his side has launched an immense genealogical obsession, this is one of my ways of saying Thank You to all who have helped me. It's a way of "Paying it Forward."
Transfers; If you are family and would like to manage your family's memorial, just send me your request.
To my fellow cemetery searchers; we transcribe entire cemeteries, I mean no disrespect when you find a person listed that is still alive, no one knows this except the immediate family.
Obituaries; I can, upon request, look up old obituaries, I have access to the Norfolk Daily News, Omaha World Herald and Battle Creek Enterprise going back to the early 1900s and in some cases the late 1800s. Newer ones in the area can usually be found on the Daily News' website. Charges?? I wouldn't know what to charge but contributions would be appreciated.
I had to add this note I received today, 23 Aug 2011:
by John Heid Shelly Madden-Heid on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 11:46am .
I connected via internet with 2 people living in a town called Norfolk. A town my mom was raised. They are long lost relation. I lost track of any family when my mom died as I was very young. I have yearned for information as I have my own kids that have asked questions I couldn't answer. I attended a reunion. WOW! Great people. I kept saying to myself, "Mom should be here not me". Last night I recieved a pic of my Grandfather that passed 80+ years ago. probably the only one in existance. The stories, pictures we have shared is crazy. I was too young to ask or listen to stories. Don't make the same mistake. Listen ask.. Get everything you can. Don't wait. A locked door has been openend. "Thank You" doesn't come close. I hope everyone has a Gene and Roberta Hutson in their family. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from my family to yours.
Dear FindaGrave friends and family,
My sincerest apologies in responding, I lost my dear wife in January 2015 and it has been a struggle getting up and moving again. It was sudden and tragic and has left my kids and I in a tail spin. I promise I will get to all requests, I just ask for a little patience. Thank You for understanding, Gene 6 Oct'15
Hoping to find some help! Hi there Gene. I absolutely love this website as it has helped me alot on my family tree search. However, I have run into a road block that I can't seem to get past. My Great- Grandmother is listed on here (Elisabeth Fischerkeller), and I know who her kids are and their kids etc. However, I am unable to find anything on her husband or her parents. My Grandmother (Elisabeth's Daughter) doesn't seem to know much either. I was wondering if you could possibly lead me to another good website to use. They were born and raised in Germany. That is about all I know. Thanks much! Crystal
p.s I am so sorry for your loss of your wife. I can't imagine the pain you all must be going through. Prayers to you and your kids.
Have a blessed day. Dear Gene, I had come across a memorial you have, the one for Deloris Strasheim. I decided to click on your name, as I often like to see the kind creator of memorial pages.... I just wanted to let you know that your bio touched my heart. I wish you and your family a blessed and beautiful day. Thank you for all of the many meaningful and wonderful things you have done, and continue to do on Find A Grave. Sincerely, Evangeline

Otis A Holmes I would like to take you up on your offer to look-up obituaries. Otis #70749301, if he is Rev Otis A Holmes, Baptist Minister, born in NY in 1825, married a Julia A Bingham. Is she Julia A Holmes, #70749164? Their gravestone photos are very similar. I have not been able to match them as a couple with the same names in an 1880 US Census in Tama, Iowa.
