Bio and Links
Bio Photo Family surnames I am currently researching: WININGER/WINEGAR, THORN/THORNE, POULSON, McINTYRE, SANDERS, BRANSON, BARNES, MILLS, CHAPPELL, MACY, PRICE, LANDERS, TUCKER, RENO, GREGOROSKI/GREGOSKI/GREGORSKI/GRZEGOZEWSKI, HARVILL, PARKER, COLLINGS, BROCK, WEAVER and SHEPHERD.

I am continuing research on a particular bit of the history of McDonald County, Missouri (sometimes called McDonald Territory) and have a page concerning their well-known attempt to secede from the State of Missouri, in 1961. (See the link given below.) Thank you to the then-Governor Orval Faubus of Arkansas who graciously offered to accept McDonald County into the State of Arkansas. "After all," he said, "it would offset the "bootheel." Oddly enough, to this day, McDonald County, although in Missouri, remains as a part of the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers Federal Metropolitan Statistical Area. To me, the incident provided a fascinating story, which tied in to another interest: philately and cover collecting (local posts).

Current number of pending "EDITS": 772 (As of 26 SEPT 2014)

Thank you to those who have checked and processed your edits!

9-22-2014 NEW RULE: Due to abuse, I am forced to stop accepting "blind" correction messages. If you have your message function blocked which prevents anyone from contacting you, and don't have an email address or some way to contact you, I will likely delete your message. Also, submitting 'proof' by saying that a previous memorial existing with different spelling, with no photos of the marker to verify, or anything else to say why your source is more accurate than mine - is not a reason for me to delete an entry I made five minutes earlier. I have no reason to doubt the survey/source that I took the research time to locate. If there is a photo, that's one thing.

RE: BALLEW, Jeff 132819569
Wes,
I could not find a Fred Ballew in the Cookson-Proctor cemetery. I believe that someone else was the intended recipient of both of your messages sent to me yesterday. It looks as if someone has put the photo of Thomas Jefferson's stone on the appropriate memorial in Cookson-Proctor, but it was not me. I posted photos of Henry Jackson and Vivian S. Ballew.

If there is anything I can help with at the Cookson area cemeteries, just let me know.

Jake Galatin
Hello Wes. My husband is a direct descendant of Jake Galatin's sister, Samantha Gallatin Bushong. I mantain his memorial #37802354 created by Diane Voegeli in June 2009. Would it possible to remove the one you created
#134643881 since the name is spelled incorrectly and would cause confusion on anyone searching for Jake. Yes, the spelling on his headstone is incorrect, yet from family records we know his surname IS Gallatin. Thank you. Nancy Bushong #47574882

RE: TROGLIN, Howard
Hi Wes,

Thank you for letting me know about Howard Troglin on the site twice. I guess I thought that I hadn't added him but I had done so. I deleted 6374383 and kept the other one.

Howard was my uncle. He was one of my grandfather's brothers.

Thank you again,

Mickie
