Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been interested in family history since 1978 and have enjoyed doing family research since that time. I love this website and have been adding memorials for our family. I hope, if you view any of my memorials you will contact me so I can share what ever information I might have. Some of my family memorials I have listed, not knowing the cemetery, in hopes someone who sees them may be able to tell me. I also have been adding memeorials for my daughter's in-laws family and some from the local cemeteries. So either way, I can possibly tell you something about a number of my memorials. I welcome your questions, comments, corrections etc. I have met some really nice and helpfull people through Find A Grave. It is my most sincere desire to help someone add new data to their research so plese feel free to contact me.

RE: Whitley Huneycutt Barbee Cemetery
hey rita do you know who has the grave listing
Added by david loveless on Jul 03, 2014 1:21 PM
Patricia Poland

Mr. Barbee, the descendant who made and placed the stone, probably put it there in 2012 (when I made the memorial). He was the one who brought it to our attention that the cemetery had been placed in the wrong county (I don't remember now which one, maybe Stanly) and we first contacted you but you had not created the cemetery record itself, so Find A Grave helped correct the location.

Dear Rita,

Thank you for all the excellent work you have done on my family memorials on Find A Grave.

I'm wondering if you would consider transferring the management of my grandparents' and my Aunt and Uncle's Find A Grave sites to me. (#47664484)

RE: Robert Stewart
Rita, first of all Cabarrus County wasn't formed until 1792. Until then it was part of Mecklenburg County. But I imagine Robert died in the area that did become Cabarrus County. With a name like Stewart, he was no doubt Scots-Irish and a Presbyterian. I would suggest if you know the names/dates of any of his children, you look where they are. My best guess would be to check Poplar Tent Presbyterian (founded c1767) and Rocky River (founded c1755), the oldest churches in the area. Rocky River even has an older graveyard than their main one called the Spears graveyard. If he is buried in Mecklenburg County, check Sugaw Creek (pronounced Sugar), which has 3 cemeteries and also Hopewell. They are the oldest ones in the northern part of the county.
