Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

|Susan Bruffey Lehman||Mollie Bredon Bruffey|
Notice you posted a "Cousin" on Mollie's Memorial. I too am related to her, she was the wife of my Cousin George Hamilton Bruffey. Wondered how we might be related? My maiden name is Bruffey, I descend from Eleanor "Nellie" McDonald and John Bruffey via their son,Mark James and Sarah Sally Lewis, their son John Henry and Louisa Lewis, and their son, James Andrew Johnson Bruffey my great grandfather. If so, thought we might compare notes.
your possible Colorado Cousin,
Susan Bruffey Lehman

|RL (Bob) Nielsen||John Philip & Susanna Pitman|
If you are not kin to John Philip and Susanna, would you mind transferring their memorials to me? John is brother to my 5th-greatgrandfather Nicolaus Pittman, who farmed south of Strasburg on Sandy Hook.

|Henny R||RE: Lorentz M Ley 94311910|
Quote from "History of Seneca Co"..Lorentz Ley, farmer, Tiffin, was born in France Nov. 10, 1835, a son of Anthony and Mary Ley, also natives of France, where they lived and died, the former July 29, 1869, the latter in 1864. Our subject immigrated to America, coming direct to Seneca Co., Ohio, in 1847. After residing here four years, he went to Australia, where he engaged in the mining industry for six years; from there he went to New Zealand, and stayed two years, after which he returned to his native land, remaining in France eleven months, returning to settle in Seneca Co., for good, in 1861. He was married, February 12, 1866, to Catharine Fry, born in Seneca Co., April 1, 1836, a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Fry, natives of France, who immigrated to Ohio about 1830, where they remained until death. Mr. Fry departed this life in 1866, and his widow in 1879. Mr. and Mrs. Ley are the parents of seven children: Charles V., Joseph A., Clara E., Mary L., Annie R., Theresa H., and Frank L. Our subject, who is one of the well-to-do farmers of Seneca Co., owns 210 acres of improved land, with splendid buildings thereon. He and his family are members of the Catholic Church.
