THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where others cried
For loved ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

WILL AND TESTAMENT

WHEN I DIE I WILL NOT END
THO MY BODY TURNS TO DUST.
I'LL TRAVEL WIDELY THROUGH THE STARS
WITH FEWER CARES, I TRUST.
SO FIND A PLACE TO LAY MY BONES
MY MUSCLE, HAIR, AND SKIN.
THEN PLANT A TREE ATOP MY CHEST
FOR LIFE TO START AGAIN.
LET HER ROOTS ENTWINE MY RIBS
AND TEAR APART MY COFFIN.
IT MATTERS NOT THE LEAST TO ME,
I'LL BE IN HER BRANCHES, LAUGHIN'.
WHEN I'VE PUNCHED MY TIME ON EARTH,
WITH NO MORE NEED OF CLOCKS,
I'LL GO TO FIND THE NEXT NEW ME.
PLANT THIS LAST ME IN A BOX.

Additional Siblings McClusky Cemetary
Jerry-
Thanks for your volunteer work. I am listing additional siblings for 4 deceased persons. In this case two sisters married two brothers. Lydia Rosenau Wahl and Olga Rosenau Wahl married brothers Carl and Jacob Wahl. Additional siblings for Lydia and Olga are as follows: John, Bill, Dan, Adolph, David, Ferdinand, Fred, Emma and LYDIA AND OLGA. Additional siblings for Carl and Jacob Wahl are as follows: Fred, Dan, Phillip, John, Emil, Ida, Emma, Carrie, Kate Velda and CARL AND JACOB. Very high fertility rates in early 1900's may have been caused by the whole grains of N. Dak. (Vit E). Along with no radio, tv or movies. I am son of Lydia and Carl Wahl. Graduated from MHS in 1951. Two classmates you may know are Ronald Reiswig and Rusty Lasher. Best Regards, Wesley Wahl.

Florence Henry
Hi Jerry, I went to take a picture of the headstone for Florence Henry in the Red Deer Cemetery, yet there is no headstone. I have seen this many times, when family didn't have money to purchase one. Next time I am there I will double check again.

Ferden
Hi Jerry,
I'm Louise Sveen Ferden's Grandnephew.
I seen you've left flowers on her and Leona Lafleur's memorials and just wondered your connection. I just had some 40 year plus film developed and found a photo of Louise, Leona and my Mother, Inez. It's in poor shape, I may or may not be able to fix it but I have others........somewhere.
Anyway, just checking for relationships, I'm guessing you're more on the Ferden line that Louise's Sveen line which is where I'm coming from.
I'm also on Find A Grave if you want to look me up.
Let me know how you know the ladies, if you will and can? Thanks a million! And THANK YOU for your SERVICE!

Hi Jerry -- thanks for the edits for Elizabeth and the unexpected transfer :). I'll take good care of her. She was my mother's aunt, sister of Jacob Schindler.
