Bio and Links
Bio Photo I helped co-write state laws to protect our cemeteries here in Texas.
I've been Honored by the Texas State Senate, Texas State House of Representatives, The Dallas County Historical Commission for my work in preserving and protecting our cemeteries. I served on The State Senate Advisory Committee as well as being an Advisor to a number of cities in my area pertaining to cemeteries within their city limits. I have helped in clean ups and restoring a number of cemeteries. I believe very strongly in cemetery preservation. Cemeteries in most cases are the only history of those that came before us. Like rare books in a library once it's lost it's lost forever.
I served six years on the Duncanville City Council, two years as mayor pro-tem.
I've been working on family genealogy since 1976. I'm the wife of Wallace Richards.

I have noticed that you have some last names listed in your family that are also names in my family such as the Richards and also Chapman that was born in Tn. not to mention the fact that my mother was also a Richards from Elkhart. Just wondering if there is connection.

George W. Kirk
I've researched this Kirk family thoroughly, because of my indirect relation to Sgt. Andrew Kirk. I've never been able to find a military record for his brother, George 11394239 (although he may have served). I did, however, find this George W. Kirk 12361137 who has received military honors that resemble the one you gave "my" George. I don't want to discredit my Kirk family, but I really think we'd have seen papers for this if he'd earned this honor. I would love to know it, though, if he has. That would be wonderful! Best wishes, Anna

Alexander C. Abercrombie

Alexander C. Abercrombie Sr,Memorial# 31381347
father-in-law of my 4th cousin 3x removed
Birth Sep. 10, 1826 in Alabama, USA
Death Jan. 10, 1904 in Carroll Cemetery,Cherokee County Texas,Memorial# 31381347

I noticed you had posted a little history on his page and wonder if you know the parents of Alex or His wife's parents Elizabeth Clark.

I found An Alex Abercrombie in Alabama listed on the 1840 census record. I will assume it was Alex or Daniel as he named a son this. But I sure would love to have the parents names.

George W. Kirk
Hello,
I am researching the family of George W. Kirk and his brother, Andrew Jackson Kirk (the latter was a General in the Civil War on the Union side). I am curious as to how you obtained the record of George W. to say that he received the Medal of Honor. There were several George W. Kirks I have found. I would really like to know for benefit of my research. Thank you so much and best wishes. 11394239
