I do my best to take good photographs and upload them correctly. If there seems to be a problem, please let me know and I will correct it. There are times due to weather or lighting that a photograph just doesn't look right. Many times I will go back and retake the shot.|
I just started photographing grave markers this last fall. It is somewhat ironic because I have been searching as to where my relatives from my father's side of the family were resting. I came across my great grandmother about six years ago on my mother's side of the family while searching Ancestry.com. Recently, I found a photo of her headstone on Find A Grave, just like the one I had taken years earlier. I became a volunteer photographer for Find A Grave. During one of my photo journeys at River View Abbey in Portland, Oregon, I just happened to look up and see my uncle's name. Above my uncle, were my grandparents. I was elated. It turns out that my great grandparents are resting in the Abbey too. I am making arrangements in reserving a niche for my ashes.
Portland is my home town. I finally made it back to the NW last summer. My great grandparents on my mother's side are resting in the Union Cemetery near Cedar Mill, Oregon. They settled in Cedar Mill after arriving here from Switzerland in the early 1900's.

Thank you so very much for researching the grave of my Aunt, I see that she has never ever had a Marker or Monument, I feel that everyone should at least have something to remember them by.
My sincere thanks to you,
Barbara P. Wanless

Thank you for responding to my photo request and posting the vault photo - a nice tribute to their "final resting" place at RiverView Abbey.

|Julie Glass||Glass Family photos|
Thank you so much for adding photos to my five Glass Family members at Riverview Abbey in Portland! To my surprise my uncles photo Phillip Lawrence Glass also contained his mother, my grandmother - Elizabeth Lorena "Lorene" Fackrell Glass. I had no idea where her ashes were put.
So I need one additional photo for my grandmother "Lorene" memorial # 146431011
