Bio and Links
Bio Photo This is a fun and interesting hobby for me, as well as a great way to perform a meaningful community service to others. Someday I hope to have more free time to devote to it. Yes, I'm in it for the numbers! The more memorials that are on this site, the better chance of people finding relatives. That's what this is all about.

In fairness to those who may have closer ties to a memorial, please read the Transfer Guidelines prior to requesting a transfer. I will make exceptions if I am personally doing work for you. You do not need to "manage" every memorial that is part of your family tree. Remember that this site is for locating burials, not building a tree. There are other websites that are more suitable for that purpose. I will be happy to make any links and corrections. PLEASE use the SAC feature ("Edit" tab). Please do not ask me to do links to any "Burial Unknown". Do your homework, first. Please feel free to add photos where appropriate, as you do not need to manage the memorial to add photos.

I will not cut and paste raw data from census records, death indices, etc. A nicely written bio is preferable.

Since March 2013 I have taken over management of memorials in Inglewood Park Cemetery from Chris Mills. Please continue to send suggestions for corrections using the "Edit" tab and I will get to them as soon as I can.

RE: I dropped the ball!
Hi B.J.
No, you didn't drop the ball you've made our day!!!!!
Thank you so much for finding and photographing Mildred's and Elija's gravestone and linking it to Find A Grave. You're wonderful and the photos are beautiful. You've also filled in a piece of the puzzle for my husband's gr. grandmother's gravesite, Elizabeth Jane Pettitt, who is buried next to them. She is Mildred's mother! Since my husband, Dennis, was not yet born when his gr. grandparents passed away, he had no memory of them and none of his 4 siblings had any knowledge of where they were buried.
I'm still trying to find where Elizabeth's husband, Gr. Grandpa Austin William Pettitt is buried. All we know is that he died in 1948 in Los Angeles Co., and the name of the morturary that handled the funeral service. Austin may also be buried at Inglewood or in another cemetery in the area.
Again,
Thank you again, you're WONDERFUL!!!!

RE: Angeles Abbey
Thanks for the update on the Angeles Abbey. Sad that such a beautiful facility can't be seen and is locked up like a prison. I too take pictures for people and there is only one cemetery that does not like it in our area. In fact they were going to call the police on me one time! Really so now I still go but certainly don't ask for grave information. I also have a "NICHE" in a local Mausoleum in Pasadena/Altadena and so far no issues. I now live in Cincinnati so my trips to California are few. Thanks again and maybe "he will die off" and the building will be run with more respect for those looking to visit.

RE: RE
Ya, that's what I initially thought too. But, only like 10-25% of the graves in the mausoleum (indoor one) were indexed. I have all the pictures, amd that is simply a work in progress now. Pacofic Crest is maintained horrifically. Supposedly in March-Julyish this year they are doing a website that will have a search engine on it of all burials and locations.... that be nice!

- I try to do Pacific Crest, sometimes Green Hills, and the Hillside Memorial in Culver City. I always do those. I wait till there are 10-20 request at that one though.

Pacific Crest is really close, so I can be there in a Jiff.

Thanks again! - oh and I sent you another edit.

RE: Salome Lewing photo request.
Thanks for the information. I did try to get to the listing but for some reason it wouldn't open. I will continue to try. Thanks for taking another photo request. You California volunteers are wonderful!
