RE: Another Cousin Found
No, when my Grandmother Brooks passed away in 1949, Grandfather Brooks just had the large Brooks headstone done and never had individual headstones done for Grandmother nor made arrangements for one for his site.

Thanks for the response. Take care,
Cousin Jean

Another Cousin Found

I am Nancy Jean Patterson, daughter of Oda Elizbeth Brooks Patterson and Thomas Franklin Patterson, Sr. Sherman Leroy Brooks was my mother's oldest brother. Her other brothers were Edward, Vernon and Leslie and her sister, Pauline. Two years ago I visited my grandparent's (Edward Lemuel Brooks and Mary Elizabeth Arrington Brooks' grave site in Baltimore.

Why yes, I do believe you are correct! (BTW, sorry about taking so long to reply, real life all to often interferes with my genealogy addiction!) Anyway, if my records are correct, your Grandfather Sherman Leroy Brooks and my Grandfather Edward Leon Brooks were brothers. I do believe most of my information from your "branch" came from the wonderful obituary you left for your Mother here on Find-a-Grave. You are now the fourth "lost cousin" I have met here on Find-a-Grave and I think that is one of my favorite things about doing genealogy research!

Thank you for the flowers you left. This is my father-in-law's mother who he lost when he was a very young boy.
