After losing my Mother in 2011, I have embarked on the journey to create my family tree, and search for my ancestors. I want to pass this down to my son. It's quite a task since I have a large family. I'm enjoying it however and I have found people who are willing and eager to share photos & any information they have. I am working on, DeArmond, Collier, Wood, Walls, Lear....to name a few from my side of the family & mostly all from Muhlenberg County, KY. I'm also working on my son's Willamson side, mostly from southern IL. I wonder how many years it will take. lol :) I find myself at the computer day and night lately delving into all this new found knowledge. :) Aside from that, I enjoy my family, quilting, gardening & reading. I love many types of music, quotes, bible passages, taking photos, old barns, outhouses, antiques, anything old & interesting. Being a DeArmond, I love the DeArmond guitars (I gave mine to my son who has played guitar since he was 4 years old).....DeArmond invented the pick up & they are highly sought after. Anything DeArmond, I love & am interested in. |

Your info on this Elizabeth is confusing me. While James Dearmond/DeArmond (1771-1831) & Susan (Shaden) (1786-1896) did have a daughter named Elizabeth, her full name was Elizabeth Thompson (DeArmond), Born 08.19.1806, Roane Co., TN. Death was 05.02.1850, East Feliciana Parish, LA & she married her second cousin, Thomas Flenniken Dearmond/D'Armond (1795-1865)...she was the second of his three marriages. The Elizabeth (Dearmond) who married William F.M Rice (1814-1911)was the daughter of William Dearmond (1775/80-1857) & Unknown Mother. This Elizabeth was born in 1828, Bradley Co., TN. Making her age given correct. So, can you help me understand who is who?1? Maybe I have it all wrong.........

Hi Lori, My grandfather x5 was David Flenniken Dearmond of Tennessee. I just wanted you to know that the book your are talking about is called
Dearmond Families of America by Roscoe Carlisle D'Armand. I have the first edition of that book. It was my grandmother's (Grace Dearmond).
|Mark Holland||Hughes Cemetery Location|
You posted a picture of Hughes Cemetery, Muhlenberg Co, KY.
Can you tell me where this cemetery is? I'm trying to locate it on a map.
|Helen Schmidt||DeArmond cemetery|
I do believe that the cemetery is in Muhlenberg County. You turn off highway 431 S on to Iron Mountain road. A short distance out that road you turn left on Fagg Road. The cemetery is not very far out Fagg road but is way off the road on a hill behind a house. The farm is known as the Goodie Fagg farm. You can see a map on the DeArmond (Fagg Road) cemetery page. Just click on Map.
