RE: BTC Phillip and Hazel Smith
JD - You're most welcome! It was a very steep hill and south facing so the angle isn't very good because I was avoiding shadows but that's what happens when you're short. LOL The flag was there so maybe they have family that has visited recently.

Hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

RE: Chief Boilermaker Phillip Henry Smith mem #156014587
I was looking at the paperwork they gave me. They sent me to Madonna Lawn, Lot 44, Space 1&2 - not Veteran's Terrace. Hope this helps =]

Houston - we have a problem. The Phillip Smith in El Camino isn't the one you're looking for and they only have one Phillip Smith. Let me know if you locate him and I'll get the photos for you.

Not a problem at all - It's just that the office doesn't like Find a Grave and sometimes refuse to help unless you're related. You already have the location so it should go smoothly. I'll let you know when the photos are posted =]

I don't get out there very often but can get the photos for you later this week. I'll let you know when I get them posted.

RE: Phillip Henry Smith (1889-1968) obit?
Hi JD,

Looks like he might be at El Camino.

I have a screenshot obit for Phillip. If you want it, send me your email.

RE: Forsyth, USN
Thanks - It's hard sometimes when there's conflicting evidence but I'm going to go with what's on the stone. I made a note of all the different sources to include the WWI registration listing his DOB as 19 SEP 1898. Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

RE: Forsyth, USN
Photos posted - I would like the DOB changed back to reflect the date on his stone for several reasons. The Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014 lists DOB as 16 JAN 1901 - California Death Index, 1940-1997 lists DOB as 16 JAN 1901 in NJ - and the printed obituary lists his age as 70 in December 1971. When WWI records conflict with SSI I generally use the SSI date since there were so many young men who lied about their age in order to enlist to fight for their county. I also think the date on the stone shouldn't be ruled out since his wife and family had opportunity to have the stone changed if the date was in error. What are your thoughts?

RE: Alexandra and Aubrey Forsyth, Greenwood
Hi JD! Thank-you for getting the plot information. I was looking at the edits you sent and noticed your DOB for Aubrey is 1899 but wanted you to know the stone has 1901. I will be going to Greenwood on Monday to get the photos for you. Happy to transfer the Forsyths if they are your family.
