Vredenburgh photo
Hi James,
You added a photo of Levi, Violet and Ezra Vredenburgh's headstone to Levi's memorial (Find A Grave Memorial# 10442596). After seeing the headstone, I recently added a memorial for Violet and Ezra to FindAGrave. Would you please add you photo to their memorials as well? Violet's memorial is #152564159. Ezra'a memorial is #152736819.

Thank you,

RE: Benjamin Crabb # 10424594
James. Thank you very much. My 2nd great grandfather is Benjamin F. Crabb. Although he died in a Union prison (with his brother)he is buried in a Confederate cemetery in Illinois.

Birth 1824 in Tennessee, United States
Death 8 Oct 1863 in Illinois, Union Prison

The discovery of 2 B.F. Crabb's made me curious. Deeper research revealed that the NPS grave records list your Benjamin F. Crabb also as Benjamin W. Crabb. My purpose was only to share that information with you. -ben

William Ruggles
Sorry I may have given you some wrong inf regarding Memorial 57989619. I researched Forrest Lawn cemeteries and found William at their Glendale location - they have the grave location listed as:

Col. of the Beatitudes, Dahlia Terr.
Lot 0
Space 5454

Hope this helps.

RE: Memorial 57989619
FYI - I attempted to find William Ruggles' headstone in the Downey Cemetery to no avail. I followed up with the cemetery staff and was told William was disinterred in 10/1944 and moved to Forest Lawn (unknown which one) Section 29, Lot 2.

Hi James! I've added another photo to one of your Civil War vets and sent you a request to fill in the dates. It is interesting to note that the headstone is not an old stone. I do not believe it was set back in 1920.

Hope you have a good week.

Best regards,

Thank you for finding his birth information. I've always meant to go back and find some of these soldiers' information, but somehow life gets in the way of this hobby!

Keep up the good work.

Best regards,

John Thomas Gano
Hi, James---

I wanted to report what appears to be an error on Mem. #47000159 for John Thomas Gano (1892-1968), whom you have linked as the son of another John Thomas Gano (1856-1891), the son of Gen. Richard M. Gano. I think you'll find that the younger John is actually the son of the elder John's brother, Clarence Welch Gano (1858-1906), Mem. #59243426.

I'm from Dallas and have done a lot of Dallas genealogy & local history work over the past few decades (I'm retired from the staff of the Dallas Public Library) and I know the Ganos and their connections to the Scurrys, the Cabells, and other old Dallas society & power families pretty well.

The elder John died in Wyoming on a business trip more than eight months before the younger John's birth -- which is possible but quite a stretch. And the younger John shows up in the 1900 census as a son of Clarence. He also fits right into the child-ladder for Clarence. Unfortunately, his obit in the Dallas Morning News in 1969 mentions the General but doesn't name his parents, nor have I found a birth announcement for him in the paper. And the Texas Birth Index doesn't start until 1903. If you have another source for the younger John's parentage, I'd love to know about it.

Memorial #3709630 William T Furey

I am inquirinc about William T Furey, Find A Grave Memorial

William is my 2x Greatgrandfather. His son, Niles Knickerbocker Furay, my Greatgrandfather, and Niles' daughter, Jeanette Knickerbocker Furay Anderson, my Grandmother.

Is William an ancestor of yours? If so, I have questions! Please let me know!

Thanks, Courtney
