Hello - For the past 25+ years, I have been researching my German and Norwegian ancestry. My most intensive and extensive research (involving microfilmed German, Norwegian, and American church records, etc.) has included these and other family branches: Schliesser, Borsheim, Lien/Lee, Goho, Reinbold, and Spiegel. |
It is my privilege to honor a number of my ancestors and their descendants by creating or managing their Find-A-Grave Memorials - in order to keep their memory alive and strive for them to be represented by accurate data.
Here are examples:
I like to review as many records as possible for a given piece of data rather than rely on just one source. This reveals discrepancies and errors that would otherwise be hidden, and opens the door to figuring them out. Sometimes, it also brings out surprising new information.
If you find any errors, please do let me know.
I hope to make each memorial that I manage something that would be pleasing to the person it represents.
Martha Jane (Schliesser) Hicks

Yes, Dutch Hill Cemetery is certainly located in Madison Township on Dutch Hill Road (41.063100, -76.544900). The two cemeteries listed in Find-A-Grave are for the exact same cemetery. Dutch Hill Cemetery and Dutch Hill Cemetery (Madison Township). Madison Township does not have it's own zip code so all mail there is Bloomsburg 17815.

There duplicate entries for Susannah Mericle #21254128 & #147802598. They are the same person. This is also true for her husband Benjamin Mericle #21254119 & #147802520
Susannah #147802598 has a marker photo.
The correct cemetery is Dutch Hill Cemetery. Dutch Hill Cemetery (Madison Township) is a duplicate cemetery listing for the same place.
I took some more pictures of her tombstone but wasn't able to get a better one. Looking at the first one I took it looks like her age was 71 years 3 months and 3 days. Her death date may have been Dec 24, 1863 and her birth date Sep 21, 1792.

Both have been transferred to you. Happy they've found a home :)

To be frank I was barely able to determine it was the right tombstone. In fact I took a picture of it hoping I could figure out who it was when I looked at it on my computer. Unfortunately it is very badly worn and although I very good at reading even badly worn tombstones I can't make out very much.
I might be able to get a better picture if I catch it when the sun is at just the right angle (I might have gotten a better picture if I had taken another one about 20 minutes later). The tombstone leans forward a bit which makes it trickier.

You are very welcome. I do the memorials with the hope that family will find them and request to manage them. They belong with family, so I am happy they are now with family.

You are very welcome. Do you want any others of the family? If so let me know. NancyD

Since I live in Iowa and don't know your area, I'm assuming you'll get it straightened out with the other person

Sorry it took me so long to respond but I haven't been on. But the photo has already been removed.
|James Craft||Common Ancestors|
Hi, Mary Jane,
My name is James Winslow Craft. My father's paternal grandmother was Ida Hohenshell, and Anna Maria Koder (wife of Johann Georg Hohenshell) is my 4th great grandmother. I guess that makes us some sort of cousins!
I've been doing serious genealogy work using Ancestry.com for several years, but I've only just started on the Hohenshell branch. I appreciate the meticulous work you've done on these people--it is really helpful. I have some notes that my father generated on his ancestors, and I will let you know if any of it is helpful.
