Bio Photo Autumn 2016 Reflection

The year is turning from the season of abudance to the time of the harvest. Gardens and fields now become bare as the chill of Autumn fills the air. It is the time of the year, and for some the point in their living, to turn inwards, recollect, and offer up thanksgiving. For the harvest is not just of fruits, grains and flowers. It is in the results of what we have produced during our waking and working hours. By finding and reflecting on five things to be grateful for each day we cultivate an attitude of gratitude. The heart awakens and the spirit responds. The desire for inspiration arises and the warmth to sustain us through winter and all the other seasons of life is kindled.

I hope you have many opportunities for quiet time as the season of inward reflection advances. From these reflections and recollections will come that hope reborn in the spring.

"A Thankful Heart"
by Helen Steiner Rice

Take nothing for granted, for whatever you do,
The joy of enjoying is lessened for you.
For we rob our own lives
much more than we know
When we fail to respond or in any way show
Our thanks for the blessings
that daily are ours--
The warmth of the sun, the fragrance of flowers,
The beauty of twilight, the freshness of dawn,
The coolness of dew on a green velvet lawn,
The kind little deeds so thoughtfully done,
The favors of friends and the love that someone
Unselfishly gives us in a myriad of ways,
Expecting no payment and no words of praise.
Oh, great is our loss when we no longer find
A thankful response to things of this kind.
For the joy of enjoying and the fullness of living
Are found in the heart that is
filled with thanksgiving.

RE: Greetings!
Thank you!! :) Do you mean the picture I had as my profile pic before this one when you said painting? It's actually a real photo of Kenny Hickey taken back at 1996, it's from a magazine. I have added all four memorials to my VC now. I'm wondering if there is any info on Nettie's sisters? RoseMary, Victoria, Helen, Patricia and her brother Thomas. I don't know their surnames or if they are still alive, i just know the names :)

RE: Capsule bios completed.
That's good of you holding onto those memorials until entirely done with them!
Thanks for all you've done on this, Em! :)

RE: Capsule bios completed.
I sent a request in for Helen's middle name of Virginia to be added to her memorial, but since it's Jackie's memorial, it will be three weeks (from yesterday, when I sent it) before it gets accepted.

RE: Greetings!
Hello EmilyAnn :) Thank you for your message about Ernst, he was a really special little one. I grew so close to him through all those years and the loss was terrible. He felt like my little baby. Now, I have a black one who is soon turning 8 years old :) Blessings - Tina

"Christian Woman"
"Summer Breeze"
"Love You to Death"
"My Girlfriend's Girlfriend"
"In Praise of Bacchus"
"Cinnamon Girl"
"Pictures of Matchstick Men"

Also, my Find-a-Grave friend Cinnamon Girl must be named after TON's biggest hit song, "Cinnamon Girl"! Crazy strange!
