Betty Jane Gilliam BAILEY
P.S.
I indicated my sister was Gilliam, but she married a Bailey so I failed to give you her true last name. Sorry! She and Lee (her husband) are at Graceland East Cemetery in Greenville, SC.

Thanks.

Hello! I noticed you left flowers for my sister and was just curious to know if you knew her. Just being nosy, but I recently began building my ancestry tree on ancestry.com and then discovered find a grave. I too love to walk through cemeteries and observe the information.

Betty was my sister and I would be so interested to know if you knew her.

Thank you and May God Bless you!

RE: Mistake
That's really sad. :( Who knows why they never brought him home. Another person I've spoken to on here had a father buried overseas and they didn't get to move him home until years later.

I wouldn't know where to start in investigating the family drama, especially since most of the people involved have passed. :(

RE: Mistake
Also, do you know why he was living in Florida? (Since he joined the military there)

RE: Mistake
There is actually already a picture for him.

It looks like you left a note for him in 2007. :)

RE: Mistake
One of my friends who lives in Belgium has been to the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery before (he took a photo of the grave of one of my grandpa's cousins). He says it is a very peaceful place. :)

RE: Mistake
Search for the name Harrelson on this search site:
http://www.abmc.gov/search/wwii.php.

The click the "Go" button beside his name.

You can use Family Search to see the entry on the 1930 census. You can't see the actual image of the document (unless you have a paid ancestry membership) but it has the transcription. :)

RE: Mistake
Yes, I'm glad I got that fixed.

All I can tell you is for military, he's buried in Belgium.
Service # 14014075
82nd Reconnaissance Battalion, 2nd Armored Division
Entered the Service from: Florida
Died: 25-Oct-44

On the 1930 census (probably taken during the spring/summer months) Vivian is 10 and William is 6.

Mistake
Yeah, I'd meant to link Carson Theodore Harrelson as the father.

That's what I love about this site - people can catch mistakes and get them fixed. I hate how on sites like Ancestry.com when people post made-up stuff or even mistakes and it lives on as "fact" for forever!

RE: FIND A GRAVE
Oops! I linked the wrong Mr. Harrelson to Lenwood, I believe.

Here is the 1930 census with that family:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/SPC2-9QW

Mt. Zion has a TON of Harrelsons. I'm not sure any of yours, but I've found that's a super common name in Horry County. One of my ancestors lost her husband in the Civil War and married a Harrelson. They each had children already and didn't have any together. I think he had over 10 Harrelson children.
