I have always been interested in genealogy for as long as I can remember. I was blessed to have grown up near my grandmother, who happened to remember a lot of family names and stories. :) I credit my passion (or obsession to some...ha ha) as coming from her. I also happen to have a fondness for old cemeteries.|
I have no problem transferring memorials to people who ask. I like to document whole cemeteries, giving me a lot of memorials that I have no relation to. So feel free to ask! :) On a side note, please do not email me asking for detailed info about cemeteries (like who is buried there, etc.). I do not have any specific information on a cemetery, other than what you see on this website. I find some on a map, and some are stumbled upon by just driving down the road.
I also do not mind if someone would like to copy my gravestone pictures for their family trees. It would be nice to receive a credit mention where ever you might post the pictures...but at the same time, it won't hurt my feelings if I don't. The pictures I take are for the "greater good" and I take them, hoping that someone out there will find them...maybe they might even help someone piece together part of their family tree that's been a mystery! :)
My family names: Carlisle, Rosan, Lively, Burton, Mathis, Ussery, Miles, Hicks, Lavender, Gustin, Trill, Offerman, Ritter, Wabbena, Sternberg, Tekstra, Doescher, Atkins/Adkins, Paton/Payton, Robinson, Bonham, Cleavenger, Barnett, Crawford, Fuller, Russell, Halfacre (just to name a few!)

OK, I did make one for Osage and Humphreys. I found 10 obits so far of people buried at Osage that are not on findagrave. I put them in an album on my facebook group page until I figure out if they need to be added to findagrave. I hesitate because I know there was supposed to be an Old Osage that no longer exists. The obits probably refer to current Osage. I forgot to put the dates of the papers in, so I will have to go back and find obits again, ughh.
group is: Osage Cemetery Franklin Co., IL

Hi Amanda. I am trying to create some type of consistency with regard to John Porter Lively. I notice you have his date of death as 1831. I have seen the dates range as early as 1826. I was wondering where you got your information and if you could include the source or information on his page here. I see you have referenced that his will was probated in 1832, is that perhaps why you chose 1831 as the year of his death? Thank you very much for your work.

|Karla Grizzell Mohr||I too am doing a couple cemetery facebook groups|
Amanda I am also doing a couple face book groups for area cemeteries in Franklin County IL. for people to gather together general information about particular people in the Reid Kirkpatrick Cemetery and the Old Mulkey Cemetery. I have added over 100 names to Find A Grave for the Old Mulkey Cemetery and some pictures I"ve taken.
I have taken some pictures at the Reid Kirkpatrick Cemetery but at the time I was only interested in the Kirkpatricks since they are distant relatives. You have taken pictures of others and have done a fantastic job in the Reid Kirkpatrick Cemetery and I would like to ask your permission to use them in our face book group. Of course I would use your name as taken the photographs.

You posted a picture of the George and Elizabeth West headstone at the Herrin City Cemetery. I would like to add that picture to my own research with your permission. Assuming yes, would you mind providing your postal address so that I can properly identify the source for the photograph (rather than simply saying "findagrave")? I understand that information is personal so rather than leaving your address here, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your time and your effort.

You're quite welcome. I was filling another photo request today for St Agatha Cemetery and recalled you wanted a few over there. I didn't remember which ones so I took all of them. Lol. There are one or two that are illegible right now but will add them to my list to be cleaned and treated in the spring. There are a few graves listed in the cemetery that I did not see. It's possible the stones are no longer there as the ones that are unreadable dont account for all the people listed in the cemetery. As I said, I took photos of all the stones, including a wide angle shot of the whole section.
Feel free to add any or all of these to your tree. Photo credit isn't required. I'm always glad to help somebody out with their own tree research if I can.

|Melinda Hiller Dickrell||I am considering a facebook group for this cemetery....|
Hi, I have ancestors at Osage and nearby Humphreys Cemeteries. My family was from Royalton and Mulkeytown. I met someone online who made facebook group pages for a few Franklin Co., IL cemeteries and she suggested I make one for Humphreys and Osage. I was at Humphreys and Osage in July and hope to go back soon. I live about 5 hours away.
Anyway, I was just wondering if you know of anyone who lives closer to Osage that might really want to to the facebook group? I want to do it and will research those buried there, not just my ancestors. I did start one for Humphreys Cemetery as there are so few buried there that I did not think I would be stepping on anyone's toes. It is so funny that most of my relatives that live in that area did not even know Humphreys existed.
Thanks for any input,
Melinda Hiller Dickrell
