My name is CherylAnn Mabry-McComsey; I have been doing family ancestry research for 14+ years now. |
I have taken many photos of family grave sites and also have helped to clean them up since the cemetery maintenance crews are starting to lack. I have found this to be at almost every cemetery that I have come in contact with.
I am originally from Montgomery County, Pennsylvania when I had remarried we moved to Chester County, Pennsylvania. I am very familiar with both counties and others. I found Find A Grave by accident when I was sent a link to a grave that I had been researching for an adoptive cousin looking to see where her biological Mother was buried. After finding the grave I started typing in my own family's names and came up with quite a few that are in Virginia, this is where my Father was original from.
This was so amazing to me that I decided to join and start adding the rest of my family members to the site. I am now a volunteer for Find A Grave and it gives me such a wonderful feeling when I can go out and actually help other people who can find closure with a place to visit with their loved ones.
I may not always find the cemeteries as I have experienced in the past, due to the fact that they may have changed names and it's usually many times over especially with the older cemeteries, but I do aquire the help of the historical societies in my research and they have played a very big part.
I also work with Ancestry and have my own site so if there is something or someone that your trying to find and can't, I will be more than happy to try and help you out.

|Soozie Evans||harlan pictures|
Hi Cherylann~ This is Soozie Evans Vogan. I had requested a picture from you I guess it was on Lidia Harlan and you had searched thru the cemetery. Well..it would be under her married name. Lidia Harlan and Mary Harlan were sisters married to Vogan brothers. Mary Harlan is actually the one in my line married to William Vogan who is buried in Unity Baptist Church Cemetery (Harlansburg Cemetery). Anything that you could find would be greatly appreciated!!
I just found a GreatGrandFather that was buried in Oak Park Cemetery, that I have requested a picture from., I might just have to drive out to Lawrence Co myself, after this snow.
|Scott Hutchison||James Madison Noel-findagrave|
Hi-I went to Crown Holl Cemetery today to look for Noel's grave but it was so hot and bugs. Will look some more some other day. I think I have the general area.

Sorry to be so slow in answering your request. No problem,just send me your ID# .

Hi. I noticed you said you had photos of Harlans from this cemetery, and offered them to the requestor. Can I suggest you simply add them to the cemetery? Maybe some one else will find them helpful.
There are a couple of us 'crazies' here in chester county, that add names or entire cemeteries simply to document them, not that we are related. Since you already have the photos, they are not hard to add to the Find A Grave cemetery.
Just a thought.
