We live in a small town in southeast Iowa and recently became members of the Pioneer Cemetery Commission for our county. We have been interested in genealogy for several years and spend a lot of time in Graveyards and Cemeteries taking pictures, taking notes, just piecing the families together. We are love'n it!
The peace and serenity found in these old cemeteries is our reward!
We have come across cemeteries where the headstone markers have disappeared... they are unreadable, broken, buried, or have fallen etc . The Cemeteries are so old that there are not any other records of the people resting there. When these cemeteries go...so does that person's existence!
We would like to thank all of you for your contributions to preservation of these cemeteries.
If there is a memorial we have added, that is not in our family, we will consider a transfer of the memorial to you.
Please use the Edit tab,(upper right hand corner of the memorial) then the "Suggest A Correction"(SAC)option. Do this on every memorial that you want transferred or a correction on and please include your ID number.
If ever you decide you no longer want to maintain the records please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and willing to take over the records. There are many out there willing to do this!
It would also be a good idea to leave someone instructions on how to make these transfers should you go inactive without warning.
If the need arises Andrew Gates # 47525704 has accepted the stewardship over the memorial in our care.

Hello, I am hoping you can clear up some confusion I have about the location of Parsons Cemetery. I have family there and they say Parsons is in Oakville but looking at Findagrave it says it is in Toolesboro? Mo & Dave,
I just want to say thank you (THANK YOU!) for what you're doing. Because of you I now have a correct death date for my 3rd great grand uncle: Charles W. Robinson. I also have photos of his grave marker and the location where he is buried. But wait... there's more! Having the correct date of death helped me confirm who his wife was because she filed for a Civil War widow's pension 10 days after he passed away. Once I had her name, suddenly I knew which census records matched him. In other words, thanks to your efforts I was able to rediscover his entire life and family (including three kids). I am most grateful to you both!
