I was born in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK where my husband jokingly says that I thought Noah's Ark had landed. |
For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.
I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.
If I have created a memorial for a member of your family, who isn't related to me, and you can add a biographical sketch I will be glad to transfer it to you. Many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so. I will not transfer in mass numbers.
An exception to the above are my Bell, Dodson, Cagle, Patrick, Hicks, Harrington, Williams, Love ancestors & kin, most of whom have numerous descendants. Much of the information contained in their memorials is the result of many years of tedious research, and as new information comes to light, I would like to be able to make those changes. For these memorials please follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers.
Instructions for ALL REQUESTS for corrections, additional information, or transfers:
1. Go to the memorial page, which has an "Edit" tab located on the upper right side of the memorial.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab, then click on the Suggest a correction or provide additional information link, which opens a message page.
3. Type in your message.
Making a request this way insures that no mistakes are made, because it takes me to the exact memorial.
Thanks for your understanding.

I see on FindaGrave that your husband is a descendant of George Washington's step son? A group in Centralia is having their first meeting on Jan 9th to start planning a 200th birthday celebration of George Washington. We would love to be in contact with you about it.
You can write me at firstname.lastname@example.org

I transferred the memorial of Marie Stuebb to you. Thank you for your kind email. I noticed the nice tokens you left for my pets which I so appreciate. I had also left tokens for some of your memorials. Have a wonderful and Merry Christmas.

I added the info to the posts plus added the extra info to my gedcom file since they are in my family file. I did all that research years ago except for the newspaper info but never added it to my own files for some reason. Maybe I was just proving my basic family people. It all gets away from me at times. I added you as researcher both in my own ged com and in the Find A Grave posts. You do such beautiful work. You should be a National DAR researcher or what we call a Registrar as you are so gifted doing this work. I will always post any of your documentation but you know I always need the proof and that's sure what you do too. Anyway thanks so much for your work. I appreciate you. I grew up with all these people and their descendants so when I see the proof I get excited and start remembering for instance other relatives in Sedalia from years later. LOL My personal email is Bonashdav@aol.com.

In answer to your question, I think it would be a better picture of the whole situation to leave the memorial pages as they are in each cemetery. That way a future genealogy researcher will have greater detail from both sides of the picture.
The confusing part is that the parents are in the same cemetery at Hopewell as the children. Kind of a logical thing to happen for a family.
Maybe send a photo request for the Farris Cemetery and see if grave marker(s) is(are) there.
I know for a fact though that I did photograph them in Hopewell when I shot the entire cemetery.
