I was born in Ardmore, Carter Co, OK where my husband jokingly says that I thought Noah's Ark had landed. |
For thirty plus years I have been involved in genealogy. When my mother died, she left some notes about a few ancestors she had uncovered and hoped I would continue her research. That was the hook-in-the-jaw that changed my life. I only regret that I have missed out on so many years that I could have used. Alas, all those family stories that went in one ear and out the other, and all those family members who took so much information to the grave with them.
I am, however, thankful for the tools that are now available and for FindAGrave, a platform that I have spent many hours gaining from and contributing to.
If I have created a memorial for a member of your family, who isn't related to me, and you can add a biographical sketch I will be glad to transfer it to you. Many have received a transfer/transfers & have never added anything. This isn't fair to kin who may come along later who can do so. I will not transfer in mass numbers.
An exception to the above are my Bell, Dodson, Cagle, Patrick, Hicks, Harrington, Williams, Love ancestors & kin, most of whom have numerous descendants. Much of the information contained in their memorials is the result of many years of tedious research, and as new information comes to light, I would like to be able to make those changes. For these memorials please follow FindAGrave guidelines for transfers.
Instructions for ALL REQUESTS for corrections, additional information, or transfers:
1. Go to the memorial page, which has an "Edit" tab located on the upper right side of the memorial.
2. Click on the "Edit" tab, then click on the Suggest a correction or provide additional information link, which opens a message page.
3. Type in your message.
Making a request this way insures that no mistakes are made, because it takes me to the exact memorial.
Thanks for your understanding.

In her obit it gives the married name of her daughter Amanda Jane Reid, of Beckley. Do you know or have any info on her?
Lucille Aliff Lilly, no do not transfer. I connected her to her Aliff husband. If you look you can see his story.

Happy to help. Note that death year on marker is different from posted memorial (1945 vice 46).
Also posted photos for his wife Verdie and three other Harringtons in same lot: Fred, Mildred and Stella; apparently their children.
Please take a look at the obit on this page. It is about Lucille Patrick/Aliff/Barker/Lilly. Have you found her record yet? I am hoping you can. She will provide a good link for me. Thanks Doris Aliff.

I see on FindaGrave that your husband is a descendant of George Washington's step son? A group in Centralia is having their first meeting on Jan 9th to start planning a 200th birthday celebration of George Washington. We would love to be in contact with you about it.
You can write me at firstname.lastname@example.org

You are very welcome and I am always glad to transfer memorials to family to care for them.
