Bio and Links
Hello,
My name is Marion Royal (III), born in Charleston S.C. in 1954.
I have contributed a number of photos and information. I am an amateur genealogist for my fathers side (Royals from Burke County Georgia) and my mothers side (Padgetts from Bamberg County S.C.) I have published earlier version of my tree to ancestry.com and you can probably google other things about me.
I currently live in Northern Virginia and am happy to take photos. Most of the time, people beat me to Quantico National Cemetery, but I am willing to make day trips.

RE: Smoaks - Bamberg, SC
Marion,

If you want to send me your grandmother's information, I can do some checking on my end. Maiden name, etc.

My email is kyla_dh@yahoo.com if you'd rather do it that way.

I think I've run across a Marnie in my search.

thanks
Cathy

Smoaks - Bamberg, SC
Marion,

I am researching the Smoak/Morris line from Bamberg, SC. Trying to locate the parents of Eliza Smoak Morris and Richard Charles Morris.

Richard's parents, I believe are John R. Morris & Elizabeth Chreech Morris. Trying to confirm as the Census Records have weird spellings.

Eliza's parents I believe are John W Smoak & A. Jackson (death certificates of Eliza show her mother as Eliza Jackson, and a death certificate of one of her brothers show it at Agness Jackson).

Any light you can shed would be great....

thanks
Cathy

Gravestone Photo Permission
I am happy to see that you photographed the gravestone of Edwin Lee Alford in Quantico National Cemetery (Memorial# 21391987).

I would like to add this gravestone photo to the (non-profit) Alford American Family Association's collection of Virginia Obituaries, where his obituary is included. You can see the current collection at http://www.alfordassociation.org/OBITS/VAOBIT.htm.

May I have your permission to include your gravestone photos? If so, I will add this to the photo caption:

Photo from [cemetery name, city, county, state]—www.findagrave.com
Permission granted by the photographer, Marion Royal

And thanks so much for your gravestone photo work!

Best regards,
Pamela Alford Thompson (Find A Grave #47195155)

Smith/Padgett Cemetery
Which cemetery is correct? One of them needs to be deleted. We are dealing with 2 counties which is very confusing in itself. The problem needs to be corrected. Find A Grave guidelines doesn't approve of duplicates. Thanks again,Harleyprice

I found the short notice while doing a search on the Royal side of my family and when I saw you have added her husband's memorial and grave marker and thought you may like to add her and connect her to her husband.

Have a wonderful afternoon, Juanda

Thank you so much Marion for taking the time to take a photo of Mr. Gray's stone. It's volunteers, like yourself, that make it so nice for folks, like myself, who are unable to get to the different cemeteries to take the photos.

Nice photos. Thanks for all you did.

Now if we can get Geri to fix the name to proper form this would be a very nice memorial.

Thanks for you contribution,
Pam
