 | William Rufus Neece Bobbi, Many thanks for all of this hard work and for sharing a wealthy of information! I am also related to the Neece family, and I found your information on William Rufus Neece. One difference I have---I recorded his father as William Riley Neece, while you have his father as William Rufus Neece (as same name as son). Have you found any information on a William Riley Neece? | | | David Clay
 | RE: Harris Cemetery Hi Bobbi, I am not related to anyone in the Harris Cemetery, but I do have a good friend who was a Goins. Her grandmother is buried there. I would wait to go to the cemetery until it has been dry weather for a few days as the driveway is somewhat rutted and probably is slick from the rains. There is an old building which appears to have a school/church style located on Victory Hill Church Road. David | | | n2familyroots

 | Proximity Cemetery OM Gosh!
I am so interested in Proximity Cemetery-not because I have any family buried there, but I have a friend who has several family memebers buried there.
I took pictures the other day and I am adding them to people who already listed and adding the names of the others who are not and the picture of their headstone, too. I had to quit, because it started pouring rain.
The difference in the cemetery the other day vs 2 years ago is night and day. So amazing!
I talked to Carolyn -the lady who works in the little office and she has a listing of who is buried there that they know of. All the records have disappeared, were thrown away or misplaced. Anyway, the end result is the same. There are a lot of unknown people buried there.
I tried to get a copy of her info-but she wasn't very forthcoming with it. I had to send her the 7 photo requests that are on Find A Grave website. Still waiting to hear back from her.

 | RE: Harris Cemetery Did you ever get to this cemetery? If not, I photographed the entire cemetery Saturday afternoon.

 | RE: Harris Cemetery Hi Bobbi, Take 220N to the Hwy 770 exit for Stoneville. Turn left at the end of the exit ramp (you will be going west away from Stoneville). Go about 3.7 miles until you reach Victory Hill Church Rd. on the right. If you reach the Northwest Rockingham Fire Dept., you missed the turn by less than 500 feet. Stay on Victory Hill Church Rd. for several miles. When you pass Bennett Road on the right, start watching for Harris Cemetery Road also on the right. The cemetery is at the end of the road. This only a few miles from my house, so, if I can help you further, let me know.
