I think that's a very likely spot for him. Maybe it will help find a marker, or if someone knows otherwise they'll correct us.
|Joseph Mann||RE: Sgt Cyrus Whigham|
I went back to the cemetery to recheck the location for Cyrus Whigham. The markers for all the confederate soldiers have apparently been removed, likely during the relocation of the burials.
|Joseph Mann||RE: Sgt Cyrus Whigham|
You are absolutely correct that the marker did not belong to Cyrus Whigham. I indicated in the comments that it was representative of those buried in unmarked graves. Many of the similar unknown markers are virtually unreadable. Since this was a representative photo only, do you still wish for me to delete it?
I noticed that you established two memorials for Sgt Whigham, one listing his burial site as Chalmette, the other as Greenwood. Greenwood is the correct location. I would recommend, in the name of accuracy, that the Chalmette memorial be removed completely since he is not there, or list it as original burial site.

Please change the cemetery and plot for Sgt Cyrus Whigham (# 91357259) to:
New Orleans, LA 70131
His remains were interred at Monument Cemetery (now Chalmette National Cemetery, and were later moved to Cypress Grove Cemetery. However, the Confederate Monument (which is where he is buried) is actually at Greenwood Cemetery.
|Jacquelyn Elizabeth Knight Aubrey||RE: Frank A. Knight|
Ok, I think I may have figured it out. Andrew Savage Knight (born in 1834) had a cousin, Francis Knight (born in 1835) Francis also went by the name "Frank". Their fathers were brothers and they were both from Maine. Chances are they entered the war together.
|Jacquelyn Elizabeth Knight Aubrey||RE: Andrew Savage Knight|
Hi Russell, I have searched and I cannot find a Frank Knight, brother of Andrew. Can you please provide more information? I have several siblings of Andrew listed in my family tree, all children of Thomas Noble Knight. I don't know of a brother named Frank, at least not yet.

Sorry, I have updated this memorial and it is not the individual you seek.
