As a retired teacher, I've found a bit of time to get back into genealogy. I think I've bcome addicted to FindaGrave. What a fabulous site! I enjoy setting up and maintaining memorials for my loved ones, as well as others. I also enjoy being a volunteer and taking pictures of headstones to fulfill requests!
My photo shows what I love most -- visiting those little old cemeteries.
My family trees include: Hill, Sells, Winningham, Wright, Ledbetter, McDonald, Cook, Hymers, Morton, Douglas, Murphy, Clayton, Flowers, Galloway, Schatz, Harris, Wallis, Baker, Kupilik.
Please remember to use the EDIT button on memorial pages to offer suggestions, corrections, and even questions regarding specific memorials. Also please remember that no one is perfect -- we all make mistakes.
Please feel free to use any headstone photos that I take and upload to FindaGrave memorials for your personal non-commercial use.

Yes, he was my grandfather on my mother's side. He and my grandmother, Lucy, are buried next to her parents, Cosby and Millie Smith, and her brother Paul.

My name is Louella Jane Likens and I just found that you added a picture of my Grandpa Odell's grave. As this cemetery is most definitely off the beaten track, I was curious to as to what your relationship to him might be, especially as you posted that you are related to the Hills.
Have a great day!

Well are you willing to transfer what you have to me?
And just for reference my name does not have a "Y" in it anywhere.

No I am not going to delete the entry I have for him as it came out of family records. Sorry there is a duplicate; however I will not delete the one I have entered.

The changes have been made for this memorial. Thank you for adding the tombstone photos.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but I had to go to work. This is what I can tell you according to the death certificate (which you can see on the Missouri Secretary of State) if your not familiar with it, pretty cool website. According to the informant which was Ethel Brown, Rich birth date was Sept 28 1876 and he died May 18 1921 and yes there was a son by the name of Onas Otis Brown, died Mar 9 1962. I also donate my time on a cemetery committee and we come across this. I usually go to the library and look for an obituary to see if it says. I've come to the conclusion that the informant was either wrong when the death cert. was filled out or the headstone information was wrong since we don't know when the stone was purchased which could have been after Ethel death. If we find a difference we'll see if we can get the creator on Find A Grave to mention something about the date or add the obituary. A person usually goes off the death cert. and assume the stone is wrong. Larry

It appears that they transposed the two last numbers of the birth date on the headstone and then got the death date wrong too. It happens often.

Here is the link for the death certificate for the Richard Brown that I have added the memorial for.
per your message about this memorial...these are two different Richard Browns. If you'll notice, the parents are different. That is a common name and their birth and deaths are close so it's easily confusing.
