I was fortunate to grow up in the home of Hazel Taggart Cory and her husband, Charles Russell Cory, Sr. in San Diego. It was wonderful that we all shared a love for the state of Michigan, where they lived for many years, and where I was born. |
Her side's surnames are: Tuttle, Taggart, Javens, Weaver, Jewell, Broad, Edwards, Bynon, Allen, Chase, Burrows, Browning, Lane, Mathews, and many others. Her Tuttle line is from William Tuttle who came on the ship, Planter. The family is from Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Portage, Meigs, and Stark Counties in Ohio. The greatest concentration of family was in the Palmyra, Alliance, and Braceville, Ohio areas.
"Russell" Cory's family surnames are Margraff, Miller, Shupp, Davis, Ives, Potter, Bretz, Lemert, and many others. The family is from Seneca and Crawford Counties in Ohio, and originates from the New York and New Jersey Corys.
My family is from eastern Europe, and I am second generation. My family names are Newman, Spatzner, Reichman, Zapisotsky, Brenner, Gutman, Shlakman, Kupershlak, Pustilnik, Ungar, Kleyman, Corman, and Garber.

|moorewaters||Samuel Taggart info|
I have a question about Samuel Perry Taggart.
YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS DOESN'T WORK!!
Please message me your contact info. Thanks so much!
I don't think Josephine Jewell # 43180379 is the same Josephine that is the daughter of James Jewell so the photo on that memorial is not her. Josephine Jewell, daughter of James Jewell married 3 times that I have discovered - Charles Miller, Howard Moody, and Thomas Snow. However, I can't find anything on her after 1920. Please let me know if you agree. I am not able to remove the photo, but maybe you can since you posted it.

|The Lady in Black||Taggart family @ Woodmere|
I was wandering around in the Allendale section (where many of my family are buried) and came across the Taggarts. I took some photos, but saw yours and read of your personal connections to the family. It was heartbreaking to read of how Charles Jr. died. I left tokens for them. The stones look much they did in your photos.
Just wanted to let you know.

You're very welcome! It is in a beautiful cemetery and you can rest assured that it will be taken good care of. Most all of the stones in this HUGE cemetery are in VERY good shape. Peter's is in the very front, so I am sure that they clean and maintain it often. He is in a plot with a few other Goldbergs... I will be back at this cemetery this weekend and will take more pictures for you, maybe they are other family members that you would like to have pictures of.

Tuttle is one of 12 veterans buried in the GAR plot for whom we do not have the grave number. The Sons of Union Veterans installed a plaque at the cemetery this morning for dedication on Memorial Day that includes Tuttle's name. I attached a photo of the plaque to his memorial, if you would like to see it. Steve

I have transfered David unto your care. I would also like to know if I may have your permission to add you to my "Friends" list?
If there is anything else I can do please let me know.

|karine roudiere-lange||Spatzner family|
Shalom from France!
I'm doing research on my mother's family. My grand-Father was Mendel Spatzner from Rawa Ruska, just like Rivka. Do you have information about the Spatzner family? Thank you very much for your answer.

You are more than welcome. I think I also added a picture of her husbands stone
