My name is Diana Baldwin Hamby. I was born in Idaho and now live in Alabama. I have considered myself a genealogy "junkie" for several years now. Always digging for new info on beloved family members that have passed this way. I am especially interested in the "stories" of each one, especially any stories to do with the military (as I was in the Navy myself) and anything to do with the Civil War since my husband, children and I all participate in Civil War re-enactments. I will do my best to help anyone with any of the information I have.

Kent family of alabama
Hello Diana,

Are you part of the Kent family of Alabama? I am working on the family tree and that is my husband's cousin's tree. I am mostly curious because you have so many Kents... on your site.

I do have info on Sarah Goble's family. It may be the same as you have but comparing data is always a good idea.

Hello Diana,
I think you are correct.
I believe this is actually Benjamin F. Harkness

D: 7-28-1892
Aged: 47Y, 8M, 15D
(According to WPA Iowa Graves Survey)

I just posted the picture,

Hi Diana, I very much appreciate your time. I wish I had asked for more photos, I wasn't clever enough to know just who the parents were.Sometime when you are in the same area I wish to request more photos. These are my family, I am a couple of thousand miles away. Thank You, Joe

Irish lineage
Hi Diana
So you must be a descendant of Jesse and Mary Irish's son, William? I come from their son, Jesse. Then it is Wing, Montraville, Homer, Earl, Ferne Irish Weiler, Lee Weiler, and me, Sandra Lee. I too have been very interested over the past few years to find out from whence I came. Much of the work on the Irish side had been done so I mainly concentrated on the Weiler side. We visited Allentown, PA where they mostly lived and died. Also, we went to Rhode Island to Little Compton. All in all, a very interesting journey! Since I discovered my direct lineage, I have been quite satisfied and have had little interest in going out on the many limbs that branch out from the tree. Too much work and time consuming!

Hi Diana,

I'm not related, so I've transferred her memorial to you. Wish I knew more that would help with your research, but I don't.

How nice that you have her candy dish! I have a few glass items that belonged to my great and great-great grandparents, and my grandmother had put a piece of masking tape on the bottom with their names on it. It made me laugh to see that you had something very similar!
