Bio and Links
Bio Photo I was born and raised and worked in northern Virginia. I'm a 66 year old Federal Government retiree with 43 years of service. Almost ten years after its inception, I found this site quite by accident when a co-worker asked me to help him at lunch time take a photograph of a headstone that was overgrown with bushes. After that, I was hooked fulfilling photo requests, primarily at nearby Arlington National Cemetery.

Then it occurred to me that this would be a great place (free (thus far)) to document my family tree for all to see, which would be based on the extensive genealogical research that my aunt has been doing for the past 15 to 20 years. This project of linking thousands of memorials is going to take a very long time (if it's at all possible) to complete due to several memorial creators, totally unrelated to my family, who will neither transfer ownership nor respond to SAC edits. That is not to say that all memorial creators are like that. Indeed, most are very gracious and totally responsive, and for that, I whole-heartedly thank them.

If I have a memorial for one of your relatives or even someone else whose memorial you're willing to maintain, I'll gladly transfer ownership upon request. Please make your transfer request via the edit tab on the memorial page, and then SAC. I don't understand the reasoning behind many members wanting to hold on to memorials of folks they have no relation to, genetic or otherwise, when there are people willing to maintain them. Findagrave's guidelines are just that, guidelines. The logic behind the beyond-the-two-generation and non-direct-line transfer request guideline from multiple members is specious at best; those requesters would be related and should be able to work out maintenance issues better than the unrelated memorial creator.

Regarding duplicate memorials, it's never my intention to create a duplicate on purpose. If you come across a duplicate I that have made, please submit an SAC on the Edit tab of the memorial page and let me know, and provide the number of the original memorial. Thank you.

You have my permission to use any of my photos, as long as you include attribution. (Please don't ask, just use them.)

RE: No Markers in Day Cemetery
Hi Cous: I put in the plot of all three that they are in unmarked grave, thou I myself known where Leona grave is at for sure, but I am in Indiana. Also Augustua G. and Mary McInturff Renfro are in Edd Renfro Farm Cemetery. According to Eddie that the only two buried there. (Eddie has already put Mary McInturff Renfro in this cemetery, you mit want to merge) Thomas Carter and Hannah Anne Elizabeth Bailey McInturff are buried in James Bailey Cemetery in Red Hill, Mitchell County, NC. This cemetery must be close to the Edd Renfro Farm Cemetery, according to Eddie dirction. Need to look at the Messages left for Jan Stratton (#48238254)from Eddie Renfro. Apparenty these cemetery where miss when the listings for Mitchell county was done. Also, Thanks for taking care of your honey-do list, that way you stay out of trouble(with women)Ha ha. Take care, Barb

Mary "Mollie" McInturff Renfro
Hi Cous, Just got a note from a Eddie Renfro, stating that Mary and Augustus are not in Bailey Hill Cemetery, that they are buried at the EDD Renfro Farm Cemetery at Red Hill, Mitchell County, NC. They are his grandparents. Also Thomas Carter and Anne Bailey McInturff are not buried in Bailey Hill Cemetery, but are buried in James Bailey cemetery at Red Hill, Mitchell Co., NC. He said he has pictures of there head stones. I have already moved Augusta Renfro, I am guessing that you will be able to put Mary there(EDD Renfro Farm Cemetery) and be able to move Thomas and Anne. I will keep in contact and try to get more info from Eddie,,,,,Barb

Nellie McInturff
I see contributor 'Friend' has already let you know he has confirmed Nellie McInturff's burial in Herrin City cemetery and provided a wonderful photo of her marker. It appears I was correct in that she is buried with her first husband, John Thompson.

Just in case you missed it - I sent you a message on 04/11 regarding the inconsistencies on your memorial for Nola McInturff. I believe she was the 1st wife of William Henry McInturff. If you concur, then the name data and the parental links are incorrect.

Link to Nola McInturff memorial:

I look forward to hearing back from you ASAP.

Best Regards,
