 | RE: a query Very, very glad to hear you came up storm free. Thank heavens for that.
That Smoky Row thing will stick in my head. I have researched the area a bit as some of my clan passed thru the town, and that reference has never come up before. I'm intrigued... smoky, like a meat plant, some factory? I know the town also did cigar manufacturing back in the day. If/when I get back to research, maybe I can ask.
And speaking of "Smokey" thanks for honoring that little girl cat who befriended my relatives. I never got to New Zealand to meet her, but by all accounts, she was quite the charmer :-) Hope your day is lovely, take good care.Added by sr/ks on May 21, 2013 2:37 PM | | | rosie mcnaughton
 | Thank you for visiting my niece, Jennifer Frees. What you said above about a few minutes with someone and a lifetime to think about them is certainly true and profound. Keep safe. | | | Bluejean♥Blessed w/Memories
 | RE: Tornado?? Thank you dear Pixie for your concern. Yes, our family are all safe, thank the good Lord. But the news from Moore is very tragic. ME's office is confirming 91 killed and many still missing. 20 of those who died were children in a demolished school...all 3rd graders. My husband and I responded with medical assistance on the May 3, 1999 tornado in the same area. As bad as it looks on TV, it is much more heart breaking in person. Thank you again for your thoughts and please keep those who have lost so much in your prayers! Homes and business buildings can be replaced, but lives can not. I feel our dearly departed loved ones were waiting at Heaven's gates to welcome those who did not survive home to heaven! May God comfort each and every one of them in the grievious days, weeks and months to come! Love you my dear Friend! Jean | | | Glenda Emerson
 | RE: Hi Pixie, Glad to hear y'all are okay. We will have to keep Mary and the others in our prayers. So horrible what happened out In Oklahoma. Just saw all the devastation on the news. We never had too many scares with tornadoes here in Florida, but occasionally when we did when Jim was still alive I had to get him out of his bed with the Hoyer lift, roll my parrots cage to the middle hallway, and we hunkered down lined up in that hallway, Jim in the sling in the lift and sometimes with our grand dog Max in the lift with him on his lap. What a sight we were. I could write a book about our crazy life. Hahaha.
Stay safe,((Hugs))

 | I am okay It is truly a terrible tornado that has hit Moore Oklahoma. That is about 30 miles east of me. There are schools and day care that were destroyed and a medical center. The children in the school (at least one of them) and the daycare are all okay. A convenience store was destroyed and there were three people killed in the store including a 3 month old child. There will be most likely more casualties. They keep comparing it to the storm of May 3. It is really awful. | | | sr/ks
 | a query Your John McDonald was born where I once lived, but I have never heard of "Smoky Row" - can you tell me about that?
Saw the note previous to mine, and hope you are not near any storms. Love your new bio pic :-)Added by sr/ks on May 20, 2013 2:30 PM | | | Glenda Emerson
 | Hi Pixie, Just checking on you two, are the tornado warnings still near you?
