"Freedom is not Free"|
I am honored to create memorials for our WW2, Korean, and Vietnam war dead.
I am presently working on creating virtual cemeteries for every US WWII Infantry Division. To my knowledge I am the only contributor to Find A Grave undertaking such a project.
The Cost of Freedom:
American War and Military Operations
WW2 US Army Battle Deaths: 291,557
WW2 US Marine Corps Battle Deaths: 19,733
US Navy Battle Deaths: 36,950
Korean War US Army Battle Casualties: 29,856
Korean War US Marine Corps Battle Casualties: 4,509
Korean War US Navy Battle Casualties: 657
Korean War US Air Force Battle Casualties: 4,509
Vietnam War US Army Battle Casualties: 38,224
Vietnam War US Marine Corps Battle Casualties: 14,844
Vietnam War US Navy Battle Casualties: 2,566
Vietnam War US Air Force Battle Casualties: 2,586
Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz:
"They fought together as brothers in arms; they died together and now they sleep side by side...To them, we have a solemn obligation — the obligation to ensure that their sacrifice will help make this a better and safer world in which to live."
In 2013 I completed a five year project traveling to Hawaii annually from the mainland to photograph headstones for all of our WW2 dead at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu. I have added over 10,000 photos to memorials at the cemetery. Prior to 2008, few of the memorials had a headstone photo.

Please delete your memorial of Pvt. Keating. It is a duplicate of my memorial #56761311. Pvt Keating will be laid to rest with his family in St. Joseph Cemetery #1 on May 28, 2016 at which time I will change the cemetery information. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Andrea Grega, niece of Pvt. John Klopp, the other soldier found with Pvt. Keating.

You are welcome. We hope the panorama view of John's gravesite was what you had in mind. It was the first time we had such a request.
Best wishes for success on your project.

A friend of mine asked if I could send you the following message:
"Hello sir, saw the entry you made for S/Sgt. Carmine D. Faella, a downed Marine Corps aviator. I wondered where you came upon the photos of the telegram? I had seen the Ebay auction for that telegram and many letters/V-mails but was not able to bid. Are you aware of where that group of ephemera ended up? I work with NGOs who locate MIAs and was very interested in tracking down his group of letters and the telegram. I am a preservationist of items from these remarkable Marines, with an online museum in the works. Thank you for your time. I am 20 years old and have had an extensive interest in the Marine Corps of WWII since middle school.
