Mary Ann Honey Cooper
Hi Bertha,
Just wanted to say thanks for adding the article about the murders of my great-great grandmother, Mary Ann Honey Cooper & dtr. Alice 'Willie".
I wonder what the fate was of the man, S.L. Irwin, that murdered them? And I wonder why?
I have another paper that said they were killed in a brawl in James "Babe" Martin's store & saloon.
Perhaps the writer of the article felt it best to say they were murdered near a farm rather than in a store/saloon. The store was owned by James "Babe" Martin. Most likely the owner of the said farm. Ironically they are buried in the cemetery on the land owned & donated by Mr. Martin.
The cemetery also bears his family name.
I was wondering if it would be possible for you to do a look up for me at the Billingsly Library in Newport? Looking for the article that mentions the death (suicide)of her son Beede(B.D.)?
Thanks so much! Donna

Thanks for all these. You've been a busy girl! I will amend the memorials. I'm not related, so if you are and would like any of these transferred to you, I'll gladly do so.

I just saw that you added an article about Daniel.
I had heard this from my grandmother who was a granddaughter of Daniel and Lucy.
Are you by any chance related?

Ignatius Bass

Sorry about the photo for Ignatius Bass at Calvary cemetery. His tombstone is sinking into the grass. There was only the large family entrance tombstone with no individual markers.

Cemetery unclear
Hi Bertha,
Regarding Corpl James L. Nash, mem #132676550 in Hillsdale Cem, Mills Co, Iowa, that looks like a dupe of mem #83784662, Graceland Cem, Pottawattamie Co, Iowa. Even the gravestone photo, including background, looks identical. Can you please clarify?

Thanks so much for the information on my gg-grandfather. I had no idea how he met his demise. I found the article in the Indianapolis Journal and copied it. Now how to find it in Evansville's papers... Once again, thank you.
