I enjoy History and became interested in genealogy in 2001 when helping my mother search for her family. I try my hardest to post only facts on these memorials, if you do find a mistake please contact me and I'll fix it.

Your welcome to use the information and cemetery photos I have added on here (just indicate who provided the photo and information and that it is being used with permission.) I have seen many people on ancestry.com take my photos and misuse them and also place them with the wrong people.

I would like to bring to the ATTENTION of fellow researchers on here who work very hard walking the cemeteries taking photos and posting memorials for everyone's benefit on here, I know it takes a lot of time and energy and gas and giving of one's self, I am thankful for all those who summit memorials on here BUT I have in the last 3 years found that many of my close relatives that have past away already have a memorial made for them by someone else who is not related to them. I am finding memorials for my family members made the day of their burial or the day after by others on here who are not related to them.(Do you scour the Obits in the paper and run to make the memorials before our loved ones are even buried?) When you lose a family member you are grieving and are not thinking of making memorials the day of their burial or the day after. It would be polite and respectful if you would wait a month before you place your memorials on here to GIVE the grieving family member time to place their own memorial for their loved one on here. I know there are FAG guidelines but many memorial posters on here don't follow the guidelines and refuse transfers. I have been ignored many times when asking for a transfer for sibling, parents and grandparents by people who are not even related. It seems some people are just out for the numbers, how many memorials they can contribute. Lets all remember what FAG is here for and be respectful of others, and PLEASE don't make duplicates of memorials when you are transcribing the cemeteries. PLEASE check to see if there is one already made for that person. I am coming across too too many duplicates on here and many that are not willing to delete their duplicate contributions.

Thomas Newington Wills
I am researching the same Thomas N. Wills born 1822.
I believe he was married a 3rd time in Indiana to a Almira Gannon (Cavan) in 1857. Add to the list of children are Annie,Jenie,Amanda,Ida,all born in the 1860s. His last 2 children are Clarence, and Edith F. born 1879 and 1881.
I have Thomas born in Kentucky, his father Eija born in North Carolina.

The family moved to Antioch, Caifornia

I am trying to find Elija's father and if the family immigrated from Scotland at some point.
If you have any other information on Thomas and his side of the family would love to hear it.

Thank you, Rose

Judge Lewis Solomon
Hi Linda,
It has been awhile since I have been on this site. I was pleasantly surprised and deeply honored to find Judge Lewis Solomon listed in my family tree. He is my cousin related thru my 4th Great Grant Aunt which I think is Isam Marion Hollingsworth, JR. Id love to learn more about you. Feel free to contact me on Facebook or E-Mail me. Thanks for your help and support on Find A Grave.

Transfers
Since you are all maintaining his parents memorials, I hope you don't mind, but I transfered Thaddeus Loomis Wills and related family to you. This isn't my family, was helping a friend years ago.

Elijah Dorris - Part III
Okay, I've lost all credibility. Something is terribly wrong with my computer. I don't know what's going on with my research information, but something very strange is going on. If only I could erase all my messages! --- Lisa Pollard Zycher

Elijah Dorris - Part II
I apologize--I see how easy it is to make a mistake. I listed the identical birth and death dates for the two Elijah Dorris; however, they are two different men. The older Elijah, son of Wm. & Eleanor, was born 27 Feb 1786 in Orange, Caswell, North Carolina, died 12 Jan 1875 in Saline, Illinois. My great grandfather Elijah, who married Mary Cook, was b. Feb 29, 1840 in Monroe, IL and d. Jan 21, 1875 Saline Co., IL. --- an embarrassed Lisa Pollard Zycher

Please see Diane Shafer's earlier comment (we're cousins). I believe the information for Elijah Dorris's Find A Grave has been combined with that of another Elijah Dorris. The son of Lewis Dorris and Mary "Polly" Bush is my great grandfather Elijah (b. Feb 29, 1840 in Monroe, IL; d. Jan 21, 1875 in Saline Co., IL married Mary Jane Cook, his only marriage. The other Elijah (b.Feb 29, 1840 Monroe, IL; d.Jan 21, 1875 Saline Co.,IL) is my 2nd great grand uncle and is the son of William Dorris and Eleanor Brown. Nonetheless, I so appreciate your putting information on Find A Grave and want to thank you for your efforts. Kindest regards, Lisa Pollard Zycher

96520353 memorial created by you. The name on the stone is Selah B. Unless you know something different I would like to get the name listed correct because there has been several problems with her memorial and different spellings and duplicate memorials. Please let me know the reasoning if you keep it as is. Thanks! Karen
