Pvt Earl W. Wissman
Pvt Earl W. Wissman was a soldier of the 13th Armed Infantry Regiment 1st Armored Division. He was killed in Sicily on 12 July 1943.

His body was never found and his name is listed on the Wall of Missing of the Sicily Rome Cemetery in Nettuno (Italy).

If his remains would have been recovered, he would have been buried in the temporary GELA cemetery in Sicily.

I am writing a book about the GELA cemetery, where over 1,200 men and women were buried between 1943 and 1947. Hope to finished the book next year July 2013.

One chapter of the book will deal about those whose remains were never accounted for.

Can I have your permission to use the picture you took of the remembrance marker in my book, of course you will be credited and notified when the book is finished.

thank you

Richard F. Lear
I certainly appreciate your effort, however the grave photo you posted to the memorial of Richard Foulke Lear #2578970 (my third cousin) is not his gravestone. He was born March 8, 1912 and died May 26, 1985. His Plot is 12-D 726.
The gravestone you added to his memorial is for Richard K. Lear and is 12-B 56. Please promptly remove this photo as it is not his gravestone.
Again, your effort is much appreciated.
