RE: Able Company 506 PIR
Hi Brett,

My uncle was with this unit and fought in Normandy, Netherlands and Belgium. He lost his life in Noville, Belgium on 20 Dec 1944. I have visited Normandy twice and the Netherlands and Belgium once. David Ashe is a friend and I am helping him fund a statue to his existing memorial. My uncle, Ollie E. Barrington, Jr, is the soldier he selected as the model to the statue in Ravenoville. I had the honor of meeting Donald Burgett at the 70th Anniversary of D-Day Ravenoville ceremony. He knew my uncle and shared Ollie's story of being wounded in Normandy and killed in Noville.

I started a virtual cemetery but have done little work on it to date. I thought it would be a cool way to group these guys who fought together.

I see your great uncle is Bill Straitiff. I have read about him but will need to go back and review so I can remember his story.

Good to hear from you,
Denise Slaughter

RE: cedar grove cemetery by wvup
Hi Brett,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. I don't have any contact info for Cedar Grove cemetery. I suggest calling one of our local funeral homes. I am sure they will be able to put you in touch with someone. Good Luck!

You left a post on Bud's memorial. Just today I discovered his WWII exploits which you may already know about but if not then, see this Wiki article:
