I came across a James Anderson Glasscock, son of Joseph Lewis and Sarah Elliott Glasscock that I cannot trace back to any ancestor in my database. He's in find a grave. The bio says he was born in Henderson County, Kentucky (near Owensboro). I have tied in several families in that area to my line but he is a new one for me. He lived and died in the Fannin area of Texas. Any suggestions?

|Huetta Freeman Bickel||RE: Freeman|
Mattie/Minnie -- too much confusion and now I can't find where I found Mattie. Minnie Williams Freeman is listed in the obit for Ira Freeman as his mother and his dad Arthur R. Freeman. I can't find either Mattie or Minnie buried either in Texas or Alabama. I am new to this and do have some Freeman information regarding Arthur's children and their progeny, but you might prefer I send it other than on this public forum.

Thought you might like to know that Ferdinand Freeman and Arthur R. Freeman are twin sons of William and Sarah Light Freeman. Ira Freeman is son of first family of Arthur Freeman and Mattie Williams Freeman. Children born to Arthur and Myrtle Funston Freeman that I know of are: Floyd, Elmer, Lester, Robert, Edmond, Hugh, Viola and Buford. Thanks for your great work.
In 1834 Washington County was divided, the area Wharton was living was named, Marion County.

|Karla York Nelson||Wharton Glasscock|
Hello again. Thank you for creating this memorial. Do you have any information supporting the 1 Jun 1850 death date for Wharton Glasscock? I suspect that date derives from something that originally stated he died after that date, but which shows up in some indexes without the "after". Do you have evidence that he did die in Washington County, rather than Marion, where he last lived? He may well have done so; I would just like to know whether there is any evidence I might have missed. (I have no evidence he died in Marion; I merely think it is more likely, barring evidence to the contrary.)
|Karla York Nelson||Nancy Chaffin Glasscock|
Hello, Glasscock cousin. Thank you for creating the memorials for Nancy Chaffin and Wharton Glasscock. They are my gggg-grandparents, through their daughter Lucinda Glasscock Skinner.
I have edited for removal of the 1860/Lewis County death info from Nancy Chaffin Glasscock and am awaiting your acceptance of the correction. The Nancy Glasscock who died in 1860 in Lewis County at the age of 65 was the wife of a Newman Glasscock and was much younger than Wharton Glasscock's wife, Nancy Chaffin Glasscock. Newman and his wife Nancy were in Fleming County in 1820, 1830, & 1840. They were in Lewis County in 1850 with their four youngest children. In 1860, the widowed Newman was still in Lewis County with their youngest child, also named Nancy. In 1870, both Newman and daughter Nancy were back in Fleming County, living with son David.

I could help you with information on his family if you need that. His daughter, Virginia Ann, was very close to my mother.

|Gay Grauke||Melissa Ann Leslie McLaughlin|
I am the great granddaughter of Melissa Ann Leslie McLaughlin. I have questions regarding the photo of her as a young child that you posted on her memorial. I have never seen this photo of her; in fact, I have never any photo of her. At the bottom of the photo is the notation: "Maggie Azell 'Leslie' - Began, Arkansan, USA." Is this a photo of Melissa Ann Leslie or is it a photo of Maggie Azell Leslie? If it is an actual photo of Melissa Ann, what is the significance of the notation on the photo and was it on the photo when you obtained it? If you have determined that it is a photo of Melissa Ann, I would really be interested in how you were able to determine its authenticity.
Thanks so much. Gay Grauke
